At 1st I was gonna go with a budget brand like Olevia or Vizio. But then I found this Phillips 32" for $690 Shipped Brand New :D

I was overall very happy with my purchase. SDTV looked great. HD looked great aswell. The only fauly was the cheap feeling remote and No VGA Output.

Pictures are kinda blurry because of my camera and ability to take bad pictures.

I saw Olevia 227V SD was bad and thats important since I mostly watch SDTV.
I also went with phillips also because Olevia's have ugly outer cases.

It's a modded Xbox with a skin that makes it look like a 360.

I was thrown off for a second as well.

Olevia 232v FTW, I got it at the Circuit City Black Friday sale a year ago for $475(the only purchase I've ever made there, I missed out on that big clearance), and I love it. I'm actually watching it now.

What size is the 232v? I found a better pic of the tv too =]

It's a 32" television. It is pretty wide overall though since it has the speakers on the sides.

^Also, have the Olevia 232V from Circuit City (because I got it on sale, prior to them going after Speedy) and I'm very happy with it. Don't think I'm going to find a better LCD television locally for less than the $499 I paid. I'm done with Circuit City though, those asshats have lost my business.

The 360 and basically all sub-1080p HD looks absolutely sick on the 232v. And you cant beat $475 for it. And I view it at a five-foot distance and it still looks sick.

:-s Unless you took that Sony Bravia in your collection picture back, that statement would be very odd.

So the Olevia's are the better brand for budget televisions? I'm going to be getting a new set here pretty soon, and was considering the Vizio. I want something around the 37" range, LCD, and can handle SD content very well as I'll be playing a lot of DVDs on it. I'm going to be spending around $800.00... I'd prefer around the $700.00 range, but eh.

I've heard good things about Vizio. However, there are a few Vizio models made exclusively for Walmart that are total crap, so avoid those. As far as the Olevia goes, while I'm very happy with it, the only thing I really watch is HD. I do recall having comcast cable going directly in to the television and was not at all impressed. It could have just been my cable provider or bad cable but that SD programming did not look very good. I'm running a Dish Network box via HDMI now and it all looks pretty damn good. The nature channels on Discovery HD theatre are gorgeous! If you are going to buy an HD television and plan to watch a lot of DVDs, I'd probably go ahead and at least buy an upscaling DVD player. I actually run my Xbox 360 to the Olevia via VGA and it upscales all games and DVD movies to my televisions native 768p.

Oh, yeah, they are very nice. I was just trying to point out that Walmart has exclusive models that are garbage. Odd that since Sam's Club is owned by Walmart that they carry two different Vizio models, but they do. I almost bought a Vizio from Sam's Club (based on a review from OXM) but that very same week I had planned to go get it, Circuit City had the Olevia on sale for $100 less and I found a coupon online. Otherwise I'd totally be rocking a Vizio.

Ah, thanks for the heads up. I was probably going to buy it at Walmart since they have 'em for like $768.00 or something like that. I guess I'll have to look for one elsewhere, although I still need to do a bit more research on how Vizio's handle SD content.

I'll be using a 360 for my DVDs at first, and then get an upscaling DVD player a bit later.
