Wow. It's... Pokemon... for... 19.99. The real Pokemon game too. Interested. I already have Diamond, though, that I bought off a lil kid in Gamestop.
Little bastard somehow misplaced the manual despite it being two weeks after its release date, though.

Shows up as $34 for me. I wouldn't be interested either way, but it is odd.

If you want it, I'd buy it NOW. It is the gold box DOTD as well as the VG DOTD. I wouldn't expect it to be around too long unless they have a LOT of copies.

Wow, great DotD, I already have Diamond though.
Odd--did they really not sell enough of Pearl? I already have it, though. I wonder if Diamond is tomorrow's DOTD then? j/k...

Good game. Good deal.
Wish I didn't already have the game
If I were 10 years younger I'd do this in a heartbeat (despite already owning Diamond). Man, when RBY first came out I bought 'em all.

I was hoping there was only one person who would buy both versions of a Pokemon game. I guess my hopes were too high. Kind of disgusts me but I guess this is America.

I agree! People buying two Pokemon games?! That is absolutely revolting! Down with Pokemon lovers, they're disgusting pigs!

Aside from Fire Red and Leaf Green the other main Pokemon games are full price. This will be gone by morning. Too bad I already got Pearl.

Even though I have diamond I am probably going to get one but I'm deciding since its much easier to get all the pokemon because of the wifi trading.

Shut up, I had to, I really had to. Actually I did buy both and two DS, but one set was for my brother. There is online trading in the game now so it isn't as bad as it was in the eariler games where it was impossible to get other pokemons.
I do wish Emerald would drop in price though, still $35 for that game. Bastards.

Okay, never played Pokemon before, what is the difference between diamond and pearl, does it make any difference if I am just going to play it without trading Pokemons, which I vaguely understand to be reason to have both?

omfg pokemans.

They are same games with few unique Pokemons on each version.
This just became my first CAG purchase! :applause: And I'll get this on Friday as Amazon Prime member.

If you are not going to be trading or trying to collect all of them then you do not need to worry about the differences.

But then got to work and saw it back, so happy!

Hit it. Needed something else to get free shipping, so I went ahead and got the player's guide, which brought it up to what the game alone would normally cost. Nice.
I played Blue quite a bit way back in the day, and played a little of Sapphire. Thought I'd skip this generation, but the great reviews and this low low price sucked me right back in.

Ditto that. I've been reading Penny Arcade and they're talking about all of the advanced formulas involved and egg hatching and all this other stuff and it just seems a little overwhelming.

Don't worry, you don't have to do any IV breeding or EV training unless you plan to battle online.

Great DOTD! I just ordered one at around 1:00pm PST so it's in stock at least for now. My youngest cousins are still Pokemon obsessive, so anything Pokemon always makes a good gift.

For only $5 more you could have bought the guide and one year subscription to Nintendo Power. Check the Nintendo Power + Guide offer that comes with almost every Nintendo published games.

I'm already subscribed to NP for at least the next two years because of deals like these, so don't need to sign up for a third just yet. ;)

You don't have to order that much for it to be worth it. Is worth it if you order just 10 items or more per year and hate waiting for things to arrive. It could be different now but when I still used the Amazon's free shipping option more than 2 years ago, it took longer for the orders to be processed than paid shipping options. Personally Amazon will lose me as customer if they ever get rid of this.

I've NEVER played ANY pokemon...how would I know if I'll be into Pokemon? What type of game is this? I see the reviews and know the price won't drop, but I don't know whether to bite or not...
Also - any suggestions on filler?

Heh, I actually used this AS the filler for the $10 Eragon. I've not played since Red/Yellow, never finished either, and sadly it doesn't appear to have changed all that much.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Well actually it has changed a whole lot since R/B/Y. However the changes are all behind the scenes. I think you'll find the battling to be very deep, well balanced, and addictive. Especially compared to the good but flawed R/B/Y games.

Thanks for the information. I succumbed to the price drop and purchased it...along with a gift for a friend that's the same price. Man, I feel poor. Good thing I managed to score a three-month trial of Amazon Prime though as I got to the check out page. That, and I used a five dollar gift certificate that I received from Amazon from having pre-ordered Harry Potter.
Omg, Magical Starsign has dropped from 29.99 to 16.99! =P~ So cheap...no, must resist!
