Now anyone who knows about the crisis of the PSP or who owns a PSP knows about the rpg factor. The fact that PSP has abssolutely no real good rpg's compared to the masses of awsome titles recurring on the ds from previous titles.

PsP has a few good titles such as GTA and Dungeon siege but almost all other rpgs are terrible.

Can anyone see the future of rpg on the PSP or perhaps an MMORPG. I really enjoy killzone liberation.

check out the link in my sig for a huge psp list of all A+ titles for the psp. and as for the rpg question, are you on crack? let's give a rundown of all the GREAT RPG's on the psp:

x-men legends 2
marvel ultimate alliance
valkyrie profile lenneth
brave story new traveler
riviera the promised land
tales of the world: radiant mythology
tales of eternia
crisis core final fantasy VII (early 2008)
final fantasy
final fantasy II

and on another note, this should really go in the psp forum.

This should go to the PSP forum, but the stuff SL4IN lists (which I listed in a PSP game recommendation thread before) are good ones.

Best MMO on a PSP idea is Puzzle Quest Online. It could be a kickass MMO. Also Maple Story would work too.

I'm looking for a game that is light in dialogue and NPCs. I'm currently playing (and really enjoying) Etrian Odyssey for the DS and would like something on the PSP that is hopefully quick paced. Suggestions? I'm partial to 2D and dungeon crawlers.

Wow, I didn't know there were still people saying the PSP had no good games.

And as others have said, PSP has a lot of RPG's.

Kingdom of Paradise fits the bill except for the 2D and dungeon crawler part. You can easily beat it around 20 hours, the battles and general structure of the game is fast paced, and the story and dialougue is sufficient and well-paced without being overwhelming.

It's cheap to boot, so you might like it. Just don't expect much out of the ending.

Alright guys, All my point was is that the rpg's for PSP isnt as good as the ones for DS because the DS has previous titles from GBA and whatnot.

Before anyone says anything, I know the link in my sig is outdated.

PSP's been getting RPGs non-stop the past few months, so I'm waiting for the RPG flood to calm down before I update it again (it will happen as soon as I get Dragoneer's Aria/Jeanne D'Arc).

BTW, Valhalla Knights' score is getting dropped hard in the next update.

Hack n Slash button mashers that require no thought should not qualify as an RPG.

PSP has better RPG's than the DS. FF7 CC, Valhalla Knights, FFT remake, Lenneth Profile, Brave Story, Jeanne D Arc, Monster Hunter Freedom 1 + 2, Riviera, Tales of the World, just to nake a few. Just because you like kiddy rpg's doesn't mean the PSP rpg's are no good.

Valkeryie profile I detested the storyline on this game was freaking horrible to me oh look another 2 minute blurb on a char that I'm sending away at the end of this act joy. Some vague reference to her history that means nothing yay ugh pass. I SO wanted to like this game I just could not get into it to many game issues like periods determiing when the act ended. Having good weapons break because your using the combo system like your suppose to just...ick.

Tales of the World heres another one I hope you like spending 8 to 9 hrs doing repetitive quests in the same two dungeons. I started out loving this game and realized I had spent like 7 hrs game time and I had been in hallowed bastion and the foot of the world tree like 20+ times a piece and the storyline was just crawling like...noexistantly.

Brave story now this one I like your actually moving forward the stories progressing this game just works I"d highly reccommend it.

P.S. you missed listing justice league heros as an rpg also Legend of Heros 1 ,2 and 3 I think their not fabulous games but their solid traditional rpgs.

Good luck with that.

I ended up paying $50 for Tales of Eternia... it's worth it and all, but that is the first and last time I shell out $50 for a God-damn portable game.

Ys PSP is actually one of my favorite ones, and the one with the most replay value.

I'm actually surprised at how big a deal is being made out of Ys load times, especially with such an extreme mass of MHF players out there playing from UMD.

Although... there was the time in the Ruins of Amnesia when I kept getting knocked down all those holes. Loading was a bit of a pest there, but I just generally hated that dungeon. The soundtrack, challenge and boss fights were more than enough to keep me from even caring about the load times.

let me guess you are wearing Galba Armor which makes you constantly poison. You can just buy the accessories that prevent poison to stop it. Btw that armor is also in the psp version.

ys for the ps2 had a nasty poison bugYes it does, and there's no way you can upload your data save if the game is played on PS3. That's why I'm getting rid of my PS2 copy and may switch it to PSP (which isn't all that bad IMO).

Like I said before, PSP has some good RPGs. I don't want to compare DS and PSP RPGs because it's subjective. Without a doubt, GBA was the handheld with the most RPGs I liked, but I cannot deny many of them are ports.

A recent firmware update to the PS3 allows you transfer your PS2 saves to a memory card.

Also, what poison bug? What I meant was, when I tried to load the save on my PS3 (I transfered the data save from my PS2 memory card to my PS3 HDD), the game would just hang (not do anything) when loading the save.
