Warning Far Cry Users!

I recently installed the Far Cry version 1.2 patch, and it royally messed up my game. It was unplayable after installing. I could not access any levels, as the game was missing files. But, I was able to re-install Far Cry, and find a 1.1 patch, and the game works fine. If you have 1.0 or 1.1, stick with it, or you chance losing your ability to play. It may only be my computer, but why leave it to chance. Nothing was really added in 1.2 anyways.

Im willing to bet your running an ATI video card. Ubisoft released a statement that the new patch does not work with ATI cards and that you should reinstall withoth the new patch. Same thing happened to me.

Well that's just a lovely patch to put out. Does not work with ATI cards.. isn't that the sort of problem a patch is meant to fix, not to create?

Well, fuck, that's nice to find out the hard way. I was luckily able to save my profile with all my saves, but damn if I wouldn't kill if I lost like 10+ hours of work. It's not liek quicksaving is even that important in the game, the checkpoint system adds a sense of urgency, liek if you die, that's it. Let's just say, I'm gonna be a lot more careful installing the next patch.

shit. i installed it this morning, and I have a radeon 9600xt. i didnt try to play it yet, but i guess ill have to move around my save games now.

Nvidia pretty much advertises every game. The majority of my games load up with one of their stupid intros

So Ive noticed. ATI used to advertise Half Life 2, but now they just have ads with their new character (Rosie?).
