My walmart in San Leandro, CA has been selling this awesome games for low prices. It's not like the Target clearance thing coz they put their games on a Cabinet and all games they put their is only $10. I recently saw James Bond: Nightfire(PS2), LOTR: TTT(GC), NBA Street vol.2 (GC), Red Faction 2( PS2), Star Wars: RS 2(GC), Onimusha 2(PS2), DMC 2(PS2) etc... So far i got LOTR:TTT and NBA Street vol.2 and i think they will have new games everyweek.

Those sound like great deals; can anyone clarify/add some more deals or games to that list, and add the store in which you saw them?

Thanks.

My local Walmart NEVER has any clearance games. I've asked about clearance games in the Games Dept. and all I get is a 'blank' stare. Like a deer looking into headlights. I avoid Walmart like the plague.

my big gripe is they have them but it takes forever for a stupid employee to open the case, I've seen some games there under $10 but they were locked in the case...

Yeah I never understood that. You can pick up $20 dvds off the shelf but they lock up $10 video games.

No such luck here. They still sell N64 games at full price.

This defenitely vary by store, I go to 3 Walmarts here in Chicago/NW suburbs and I have only seen the one by the intersection of Algonquin/Golf do this. They do it one system at a time, one time I saw Xbox games 50% off (even the new releases) and about a month or so ago I saw Cube games. I still see DC games here for $5 from time to time.

Actually discount games go into a bin similar to the one DVD goes into in my Walmart. So they are actually not locked up. Just the new ones are.

I just checked this out, but I only saw a LOTR: TTT (GC) $19.88
They didn't even have DMC 1, let alone 2.

I did see Sonic Adventure DX Director's Cut (GC) $20.00 marked down from $40.00. I jumped on that and talked to a manager to use my GGC from Best Buy (She made a huge exception).

Total purchase = $15.00

Walmart clearances seem to be really YMMV compared to Target. At least at Target, all stores usually have the item on clearance just at different prices. At Walmart, I think it really is on a store by store basis which is a shame since one game can be $10 at one store and $50 at another. I have never seen any of the Walmart deals posted be the same price at my local Walmart.

It used to be that way at mine. Now everything electronic has to be rung up in back, even the cheap dvds in the bins outside of the electronics dept. Ususally what they do for games is they put a big sticker on the sides and line them up where they have space. I have to scour any small space in the cases for the discount games. It's become a pain to find cheap games there....

Can anyone verify any deals for Xbox games?

Around Sept. 2003 I found RTCW ($25), MotoGP 2 ($25), Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee ($10), Rallisport Challenge ($10).

Among the other titles for xbox that were there but I didn't pick up were:

Max Payne $10
Test Drive $10
Panzer Dragoon Orta $15
Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO $15
LOTS more

Also grabbed Nascar Thunder 2003 for Gamecube ($5) but hated it and sold it on ebay for $15.

This is a huge YMMV. Each Wal-Mart is individual and competes against local compeition in terms of pricing, atleast for games adn several other products. My Wal-Mart has NEVER put any games on clearance, only thing I ever saw on clearance from Wal-Mart were their game boy color games and PS/GC controller adaptor for XBox. That's it, and I've been eyeing Wal-Mart for over 2 1/2 years now.

Props for getting a Wal-Mart to honor the GGC, I probably wouldn't have even tried pulling that one :) Probably just shows what you can pull if you have a good attitude.

My Wal-Mart has video game accessories on clearance quiet often. They very seldom have any video games for $10. I did get a GameCube extension cable for $1, a PlayStation 2 stand for $2, and an Xbox Memory Unit for $16.
