I am looking for a sega CD to fit the model 1 genesis, if I do find one can someone please tell me exactly what I need to find with it, such as cables or cords and which adapter I need to get (model no. please). I don't want to be stuck with a system then not be able to find the necessary cords to hook it up.
Also will model 1 genesis AV cords work with the corresponding Sega CD? I cannot use RF hookups for this setup so I have to be able to find the right AV cords for it too.
Thanks

Both Sega CD units, model 1 & 2 will work with a model 1 Genesis, The model 2 CD (Flip Top) doesn't fit perfect, but connects perfect. As far as cables, all I've ever used for the CD was a power cord. It's video & audio output are through the Genesis its self.

Thanks, I probably should have picked up that sega cd I found at a yard sale last weekend, but I was distraught and not thinking clearly... also it was probably broken since it was filthy and thrown in a bin..

You never know with the old stuff, could work like a champ. If you've got a Model 1, you may want to track down an original CD unit anyways, because it's built for that specific unit. But whatever you need to play great games like Ground Zero: Texas and Mega Race (sarcasm).
What about great games like Snatcher, Eternal Champions Challenge from the Darkside, GOOD Mortal Kombat 1, Popful Mail, Lunar 1 and 2, Vay, Shining Force CD and Ecco with great music?
