as a person who made the mistake of buying those two movies last year, really if I were you save your money... those two movies are crap compared to DCAU releases.

Come now, they're really not that bad. They're actually quite enjoyable. Can't speak about Dr. Strange/Iron Man, but I enjoyed the Avenger movies.

Pissed off about this:

Masters of Horror: Season 1 - $49.99

Gonna have to look into it and then to sell off the ones I have.

Is this The Outer Limits: Volume 2 - $19.99 the original series or the redone 90s version?

$3.99

For $3.99 YAY!!!!:

The Invincible Iron Man (Marvel Animated)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Volume 2
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles: Volume
Requiem for a Dream (Any idea which version?)
Pi

$14.99 (includes all seasons of all shows listed!)
Grounded For Life
Invasion
only want thsoe two

Heroes Season 1 on HDDVD pisses me off at $100. What the hell is that bullshit. If you want to ramp up the price of it, then at least put at or around $60-70. Make it somewhat affordable. At $100 they're pulling off the same bullshit Fox and Paramount did with the X-Files and Star Trek TNG sets respectively. If I wait a year or two it'll be about $30-50 and at least decent prices. I might pick up the regualr SD release, but I'm not sure.

What's the Target deal for Heroes on DVD?

I will probably grab Iron Man, possibly PM the TMNT sets I bought a couple weeks ago (not sure which ones they were and what prices I bought them at). Few other things look nice, but since Summer of Entertainment is over, less desire to splurge on unnecessary cheap stuff.

And the Ultimate Avengers movies are not bad, especially not for $4.

Thanks for the warning, I had remembered general enthusiasm around here when they first came out, so maybe I'll hold off.

On another note, $100 for heroes is retarded. HD DVD finally gets some momentum by buying off a major studio and then they go and slap a $100 price tag on what could be the best release of the year.

hiccupleftovers, all that is shown is the spine, which has the title, but does not indicate if it is rated or unrated. sorry. "requiem for a" is written in white, "dream" is written in red. not familiar with the movie myself, so i don't know if that will help determine if it is unrated or not.

I'm not really a big fan of Hard Candy. Personally, it was slow and arduous, and though it was good, I found it more suitable as a rental. Quite disturbing as well for the down below parts as well.

Really, most reviews I've read around the web seem to hold those to movies in high esteem and great regards. Go to DVDTalk for pretty much all your great reviews. Some here and there are off of course, but you slowly begin to know who writes the best articles and the most accurate.

Again, most critics and interweb peoples that I know rate the movies quite well really.

I would wait for the BB ad to hit the underground sites online today or tomorrow. The normal price of $100 you posted is the normal price, but obviously it's on sale being a new release.

I'm sure they were waiting to see what others are selling it for on sale, and then priced it accordingly.

Besides if bring the ad from FYE/CC wherever, BB will price match it no problem.

Are you confused...?

I believe it is $20 to buy Blades of Glory along with one of those other movies. It could be a little clearer, but that is the way they usually do those things. Also, I just took the time to check the current price of all the titles listed for that, and they are all $9.99, so 2 for $20 on any of those would be no deal.

What is the 45 minutes of extra content on the Target Heroes Deluxe DVD?

Some Comic-Con related stuff?

I hate Target since you can't order any dvds online and you have to go to the actual store

What will be the circuit city price on Heroes Season 1?

I still have a gift certificate with $14 remaining in the balance

Will the Blades of Glory with the bonus DVD be a hot seller and sell out in a day?

I will get that along with Team America with the 2 for $20 deal

I have the other movies already in the 2 for $20 deal

I flipped through nextweeks CC Ad to see if we would have a deal on Heroes and all i saw was that the regular dvd edition is 37.99 and it comes with a deck of cards, and a coupon for 5 bucks off a t-shirt on nbc's website. Further checking of our system there wasnt even a listing for the HD-DVD version. So who knows.

Deck of cards? What does that have to do with Heroes?

Well since Circuit City is probably out of the running and it looks like Best Buy has the best price, it comes down to whether you want a cheap price or whether you want the Collector's Edition and extras that Target has.

does anyone know if i buy a controller at best buy, if that counts in that "summer of entertainment" deal they got going on? I'm $80 shy of $300 and if the controller counts, I'd go get one tomorrow (then PM to CC) and get a movie or two. Otherwise it looks to me like there's nothing $80 worth trying to buy. (I suppose I could buy bioshock if my rental comes in tomorrow and is good).

I'm $80 shy of $300 and if the controller counts, I'd go get one tomorrow (then PM to CC) and get a movie or two. Otherwise it looks to me like there's nothing $80 worth trying to buy. (I suppose I could buy bioshock if my rental comes in tomorrow and is good).

good question. i think it states that you accrue points when buying "music, movies and games" so i would assume that accessories, even gaming accessories would be in their own category and not count. you could ask one of the associates at the store, but from my experience, a lot aren't even aware of the promotion going on. but you can always buy it, leave it unopened, see if it posts to the promo (since the promo ends tomorrow anyways) and if it doesn't and you don't need the item all that much, you can just return it.

Hey, here is a solution to everyone who is upset about Best Buys crazy price on the Heroes HD-DVD set. I always just print out the item page from Target.com's website and use that as a price match at BB. Since Target uses Amazon.com for all their online movie sales the prices are the same. This way I can get all of my HD-DVDs at BB with Amazon's prices (plus tax of course). I recomend everyone do this as I have never had any trouble with this type of price match.

Or you could, um, just buy it from amazon and not pay the tax...?

I'll take Hot Fuzz at $12.99, Pi, Hard Candy, Devil's Rejects, and House of 1000 Corpses at $3.99 each. (And yes I know House and Devil's are bad movies. I just have a thing for bad horror...)

Thanks OP!

House was an somewhat mediocre horror movie but The Devil's Rejects on the other hand was one of the best horror movies in years. If I didn't already have them then i'd sure get em this week.

Does anything else work with the $10 off a Fox DVD Set coupon besides The Pretender and Reba?

Dang theres alot of great $3.99 dvds there. Too bad I own all the good ones. heh

Reservoir Dogs
The Doors
Crash
Lord of War
American Psycho
Devil's Rejects
SAW 2
Saw
Turtles Vol.1
Turtles Vol.2
The Punisher
The Running man
Van Wilder
House of 1000 Corpses
Monster's ball
Hard Candy
Audition
Requiem for a Dream

All those except maybe The Running Man are easily worth $3.99

I would have definitely gone crazy with this sale.

The $14.99 tv show sale is intriguing though. Anyone know if theres any other shows in this deal that arent listed? I tried looking it up on BestBuy.com...but couldnt go to a page that showed all teh shows in this deal.

Grounded For Life
Threess Company
3rd Rock
Fresh Prince
Kung Fu
21 Jumpstreet

Not bad........I may bite. But only maybe.

Not really that great of a sale price for the Smallville seasons, besides I already own them. And was never a fan of SuperNatural.

Anything else for $14.99?

if anyone finds any info on the target heroes bonus dvd please make a separate post

I am still on the fence

I can get the heroes set for $11 at amazon since I have a check balance of about $25 for dvds I returned to them so I don't know if I want to pay $44 for a deluxe version but if that deluxe version ends up selling like the 300 best buy helmet set than I would be bad I passed on that opportunity to buy it and avoid buying it at ebay

off the topic but that girl in the dorm daze dvd cover looks like Poppy Montgomery

Looks like Amazon dropped Heroes on DVD a few bucks, now the same price as Best Buy with no tax and free shipping.

Not sure if I should go with the 2% savings in the form of RZ certs, or 7.5% in no tax, which I'll probably pay by estimate on my tax return anyway.

You can actually get an additional 5% off at Amazon by entering coupon code "tvguide5". See this thread (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144702) for details.

Also, you can get Heroes for under $30 from Barnes & Noble online by following the instructions in this thread (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149998).
