I'll second the BioShock love. It's amazing. I'm still very much looking forward to Prime 3, but man, I wasn't following BS at all and now it just came out of nowhere for me. Very cool.

I'm interestd to be playing Prime 3 and BS side-by-side (with school no less!) and compare/contrast what is surely two labors of love for their respective developers.

:bomb: My brother just called to tell me he bought a 360 tonight. I've been wanting one since around January and in the past couple of weeks he decided he would buy one once the price drop took effect. What pisses me off is I should be able to buy one right now but I've loaned out money to friends and family and I'm not getting paid back very fast.

My plan of action once I get one is to buy a wireless bridge and live off of demos for awhile. Once I turn 18 this fall, I'm going to try to get some free games and accessories for it from those freebie websites. I need to be 18 so I can have a debit card or a paypal account or whatever they require to signup for the offers.

About 17 hours. I didn't rush at all. I rescued all the Little Sisters and did a lot of exploring. Next play through I'll focus on finding the stuff I missed on hard difficulty.

Luminous Arc really isnt that great.

- Standard, by the books story (so far, I'm only chapter 15?)
- The script writing could be better. Having to interject "anyway" to bridge unrelated pieces of conversation the way they do it is poor form.
- Battle system lacks depth (no attacks that push people off their tiles, no significant increase of ranged weapons or magic with height)
- Touch Screen mode disables all buttons, which is retarded
- Touch Screen mode for some reason doesnt let you select everything you want to sometimes.
- Second screen isnt made good use of. Showing a full, persistent stats of the person you are issuing commands to isnt all that useful mid-battle. You end up fidgeting through menus as much as a single screen game.

Its not bad, but its FFTA lite at best. Naturally I turned the voice acting off immediately - not because its bad, but I dont like voice acting.

Something about the characters, the controls, and the battles, combined with the music makes Persona 3 so compelling. I think it's just the fluid and rapid way the characters move around the halls of tartarus, and how fast paced the battles are. It takes all the chore out of dungeon crawling, and doesn't let you stay there very long.

I also blame much of the addictiveness on the VERY clever decision to place your daily chance to save right in between the school day and dark hour. Every time I say I'm done at the next save point, I realize I'd be quitting right before a chance to explore Tartarus, and get sucked back in. Genius.

Yeah, I love me some FFX. Played FFX International back in May to see how it sounded on my sound setup I'd gotten, and I ended up putting like 28 hours into the game in a week. Despite the fact I'd already played through FFX back in 2001, the game is still so damn fun to play through.

Okay, so I'm one hour into Persona 3 and already I can tell that, yes, this is the game I've been wanting. There's really nothing I don't like about the game... the storyline seems like it'll be great, it's dark, the weird combination of school life and dungeon crawling is legit, the music could be some of Meguro's best, the voice acting is actually good, etc. I already know I'm going to love this game even though I'm just in introductory segment, and I'm already hoping that Atlus brings over Fes... because I'm gonna want that.

Well, on the bright side, Atlus has always been a pretty fan-oriented company. I wouldn't be surprised if they were already in the process of bringing the game over, and SMT games have always sold pretty well for them IIRC.

I still need to play my copy of Persona 3. I'm a little upset I bought it, because I found out Meijer got the game in, and sometimes Meijer has 15-20% off sales (so I could have saved some $$$ on it). Oh well, I already opened it.

For some reason, I felt like playing some DS today. I played some Mario Kart DS (and got my WiFi setup with my new router). I also played some Mega Man Battle Network 5: DT.

Got in a few hours of Riviera (about halfway through Chapter 5), and a solid 4 hours of Skies of Arcadia: Legends. I played three hours of that over a year ago (so says my save file), hadn't touched it since. After getting reacquainted with all the game mechanics, I'm enjoying it quite a bit. It's not perfect (having to fight with the camera is fun), but fun is all that's required.

With handhelds, I go in cycles. In one cycle I play PSP hardcore, in another DS hardcore, and another, not playing anything hand held. Trying to get back into DS but the whole need something to play is gay. I think I'll get Hotel Dusk or something.

Shadow Hearts 1 is great. Not sure if it's better than the 2nd one but it's decent so far.

I have 3 armageddon bosses (thus 3 guys i need to level/get elixirs, etc) to go in odin sphere, then I move onto xenosaga 2 which i'm about 4 hours into already. It'll be good to be finally done with odin sphere, as pretty as it is, the fighting gets very repititious as do the load times.

System Shock 2 works on XP, finally!

I'm confused as hell about how the game system works in SNK vs Capcom Cardfighters on DS, but it seems kinda fun. The translation is awesome.

Persona 3 will be played for the rest of the year in small bursts. I think that's the best way to do it, a few hours every few days.

I've been playing Bioshock for at least an hour or two a day since Wednesday; the rest of my gaming time is split between Jeanne D'arc, Castlevania PoR, and Crush. I've actually thought about just going ahead and getting Lair too, since I need something new and decent to play on my PS3. That isn't a fighting game or a FPS. If Tekken DR doesn't go online soon I'll probably stop playing that as well since I am getting bored of it. All these FPS need to stop coming out as well or else I am going to burn myself out on them again like I did last year for the Xbox. I definitely don't want to do that either with some awesome FPS coming out in November too. ;)

If you think you'll enjoy LAIR go for it. To me it looks like Drakengard except better, and Drakengard was awesome.

I know lol and The Darkness too. I hate fucking backlogs and not having any time to play games. I usually play Resistance online, I haven't even finished the main story line in that. I do love Capture the flag on Resistance online, I've had a fucking blast playing that until like 8AM. You ever plan on getting that again whenever it drops in price? Also what did ya do with NGS trade it in? I've been thinking about it since I do like NGB better but ehh I dunno. One things for sure NG2 better not have any mid loadings or I am going to flip the fuck out.

The RPG genre is my favorite by far, but I already have the most ridiculous RPG backlog. I played Tales of the Abyss a lot last year, but stopped at 18 hours. Some may wonder why I don’t just play now, but I can’t decide what to play, since I have three Shadow Hearts games, a bunch of Suikoden’s, some Wild Arms games, .Hack//GU, FFXII, Brave Story, more Tales (except for Symphonia which I beat), Valkyrie Profile games, a few SMT games, and around 60 more RPGs. I have so many freaking RPGs that I have no idea how I will play them. I’m also a tad short on cash right now (well, a limited amount to spend the rest of the year), but I just can’t give up most of them (I did let a bunch go earlier in the year, but letting more go may be hard). I really want Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonota, Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness, and other RPGs, but I’m thinking I might just buy something shorter over them. Still, my backlog will get more ridiculous soon.

I really love video games but just can’t play them all that much right now. I’m extremely busy with college trying to design, build, and test an electronic product I have to create. And since I live further from campus now, I’m exhausted by the time I get back to my apartment. Along with all this, I write at least one article per week for a handheld gaming site (usually previews. Plan to do reviews, editorials, etc. in the future also). Basically, I’m just swamped all the time. I haven’t played my PS2 in over a week. I play my PS3 each day (usually limited to demo, PSN game, Resistance or MotorStorm online), PSP/DS gets played when I’m in the bathroom at the moment, and I play 360 2-3 times a week. Lol, I use to game for around 30-50 hours a week, now I’m down to around 7 if I’m lucky. :(

I played quite a bit, but ended up downloading a game save so I’d have all level. ;) I never had problems with NG Sigma loading, except for more enemies towards the beginning of the game, and I have a 20GB PS3 also (with the lower cache).

Fired up Persona 3 to see what the fuss was about. Holy-Mother-of-All-Gaming-Goodness this game is fun! Although I've only played about 6 hours (up to the subway train boss, where I died) I can tell this is going to be one of my favorites this year. The school and social links are alot more interesting than I thought they'd be--you actually get to know and care about the characters more than many other RPGs IMO.

I am almost done with Bioshock. What should I play before I get Blue Dragon, Metroid Prime 3 and Warhawk this week? I am thinking of finishing Earthbound or any of my SNES games I haven't played in awhile. Then which one should I play first? I am thinking Metroid Prime 3 first, since it will probably be shorter than Blue Dragon. Warhawk will be played asap, but since it doesn't have a story, I won't feel I need to complete it like I would with the other two. I hate pre-ordering games before they have release dates.

Yeah Peach Wilkins he was/is guarding the door. He wanted me to get the camera and get three pictures to be able to get into the place. I got the camera and then saved and went to bed seeing as it was 6AM lol. I am glad to know I have a ways to go as I am loving what I have played thus far. I just started it up last night after I got home from my shitty date, have had it since Friday but wasn't in a mood to play it until last night. We were immediately impressed with the visual quality of the game. The effort put into the character models and environments are evident, though there are occasional framerate drops. (We only noticed one framerate dip during the 20 minute play through and it was over within a second or two.) The detail in the graphics is most obvious when your dragon belly is scraping along the ground, or across the ocean.

As far as gameplay goes, we only had a chance to play a flying section, but it was very enjoyable. The SixAxis controls felt great -- which surprised us, since the controls had received the most negative press. Flying around as a dragon was incredibly satisfying as we could feel the weight of the creature when swooping down or pulling up further into the sky. It reminded us of the old DOS game Magic Carpet in how you had to compensate for momentum, lest you fly much further than intended.

I'm alternating between charging confidently into the omega dungeon in FFX, coming within moments of death before winning a battle, getting a fuckton of AP, then running to suckle from the teat of the save point near the entrance. Really effective way of leveling up characters.

I got Metroid Prime 3 today, and found a GameCube copy of Beyond Good And Evil for $12, and Silent Hill 2 GH for $7 at gamecrazy.

I finally started to play Persona 3. I will say that I absolutely love the game, so far. Problem is, since I'm super hyped for Warhawk now, I may not play it all that much. :( On PS3, I played Piyotama and improved my high score. I'm liking the game more now.

I realized something, that I was shooting to the extreme left and then extreme right of my field of vision, and realized that's something I would never be able to do in a dual stick FPS. I avoided almost anything about the game and am glad for it. It's so good.

Just played an excellent Starcraft free-for-all. I haven't played for some time, so I was quite rusty, but still managed to pull out a win for the glory of the Protoss. I was more than ready for Jarvis' air-heavy army with my massed Dragoons and High Templar, and rolled over both players with ease. Of course, the Terran had some hidden bases on islands from which he built BCs and an impossibly large mass of tanks, but by that point I had at my fingertips every Protoss unit except Scouts, Dark Archons, and Reavers.

I'm alternating between charging confidently into the omega dungeon in FFX, coming within moments of death before winning a battle, getting a fuckton of AP, then running to suckle from the teat of the save point near the entrance. Really effective way of leveling up characters. That's exactly what I did, loved every minute of it (well, except the minutes where I died to those fossil-things) and became way too powerful for the last boss. I beat the last fight with Seymour in 1 turn. Yet I still wasn't strong enough to get to/beat Omega Weapon, or whatever weapon was before him. Man what a fantastic game.

The only thing that kills me every time in the omega dungeon is the Uber-Marlboro (the purple ugly thats all teeth, eyes, and tentacles) because he always gets first strike, and always uses bad breath for the first strike. Bam, everyone's got confusion, poison, darkness, curse, and silence, or at least 3 of those.

This talk about FFX and the gametrailers latest FF retrospective on it and the sequel have me wanting to play FF X-2 finally. I've had it for a while now but never opened it. I think its time that I play through this game.

Currently playing Arc Systems Hakuto No Ken (aka Fist of Northstar) fighting game. Very pretty 2-D visuals and over the top fighting moves. Though, I'm not sure if its the most balanced of fighters. Fans of the anime would love it though.

Additionally, unlike ReRo's mom, Persona 3 is a reasonably good challenge. It's not on the level of DDS or Nocturne to be sure, but if you aren't careful, you're finished. Oh, and the game still kicks ass. I eventually went to get coffee with that Black Pussy, but I don't intend to advance that relationship very far.

Currently going through Call of Duty 3 on Veteran difficulty. I actually found 2 on Veteran a whole lot more fun.. in 3, it's just one annoyance after the other. On a technical aspect, it seems far inferior (the AI in particular).
