Big news for Buffy fans -- the BBC has optioned Whedon's idea for a Giles TV movie entitled Ripper (http://www.tvsquad.com/2007/07/28/comic-con-joss-whedon-panel-report/).

Who else is overly excited?

Sounds fun. Glad they are getting the original actor for the role as well.

Just hope it comes to BBCA.

This came out a few weeks ago at Comic Con.

That's okay, funny too is that link is how I found out when it was first posted. :)

I don't think enough people know anyways, so might as well post it. :D

I think this is a few years to late. If it came out during buffy or a little bit after the show ended it would get more attention. I am not sure if people will care enough for it.

Hopefully they will decide to set it after Buffy instead of before Buffy, since Anthony Stewart Head did an episode of Doctor Who last season and he's looking a little bit too old to play pre Buffy Giles.
Plus if they did it post Buffy some of the Buffy characters could be guest stars.
