i have a ps2 fully functional never gave me any problems. Comes with box, instructions, and ethernet adapter on the back. comes with three memory cards and 2 controllers. would gamestop be the best bet, if so should i wait for any trade in deals? ebay? CAG?

Ebay is your best friend. Don't ever trade-in your console at Ebgames/Gamestop...you don't hope to get "good" money. They only care about system. Box and instruction are useless

They test them there and only give $15 for them.

15 dollars is probably all they're worth unless you know what's wrong with it...

I checked around for trade in values on the ps2 and its squat. Unless you have a gamecrazy around and can take advantage of the deal offering $90 ps2 fat and $110 slim if you trade towards a 360 or ps3. There is a thread about it in the deals area.

I am holding onto mine just to see if there is a trade in deal in the next 2-3 months. Slim chance based on hardward sales. I figure worse case I can sell my 2 logitech wireless controllers.

craigslist is the best for selling. Ebay is fun to buy on but as a seller its a RIPOFF. I mean like the paypal handling fee, plus all the listing fees is a little much, definetly has to be a worthwhile item to sell, or just have time on my hands to sell junk.

I think the laser is worn out... it gets DRE and I opened it up and tried fixing it but that didn't help. I'll probably just trade it into Gamestop; it's just a worthless piece of plastic now.

When I read the title, I immediately thought M-80. But it's still working, so. . .

Heheh.

But what kind of a test would it be if it doesn't work in the first place?

Okay, dropping it from 15 ft...it still doesn't work.

As for your broken PS2...you might as well try selling it on ebay. Some business that repairs and resells consoles might buy it. Just set the reserve for $15 or so, I guess. Well, account for the ebay and paypal fees, though.

Also, if it's only the disc drive that's not working you could try setting it up to play games that have been copied to a hard drive. It's definitely not piracy if you're only playing the games you already own and can't play any other way.
