I picked one up for 10$ at goodwill i have no games or controllers(or cords but i ahd those). The power light blinks WITHOUT a game in it, does it always do that without a game? or is it the 72 pin connector...

I can try it later today, but I'm pretty sure that's normal. You don't have any games to try out on it?!?

I bought a genesis for 10$ with controller and then 2 games for 99cents ea (football and sonic 1) The controller I found out was genesis model 1 and adn the video cable would be a pain the ass to get(another 10$ for it)
So I returned all that for 12.87$
Got an NES(10$) and Super Breakout(1.99) for 12.88$
That's what happened =o

IIRC, that's supposed to happen. Might wanna do this (http://home.centurytel.net/wcp/nes/)before you start using it though.

It seems really complicated I'll try it out when I get a game and if it doesn't work i'll revert to that. Thanks though :)

Tard, of course it blinks without a game in it. All the data it needs to display an image is on the cartridge. Its not like a 360 or something with a built in OS.

The cleaning your NES and the bending the connector thing is always the first thing people try for this problem as well as other problems.
