Well my family has no high defination televisions and we will get one soon but its not for me to play games on. so my grandpa got my cousin a flat screen and i will be able to get his old monitor. apparently crt monitors are capable of displaying 1080p or something of the sort 1080i i m not to sure. what will i need to play my wii and ps2 in hd on a monitor. i have component cables so that not a problem. i have heard of a vga box but i have yet to see one with component input.

You can't play the PS2 or Wii in HD. Period.

S-Video is not HD.
You're probably looking for something like this. (http://www.totalconsole.com/servlet/the-207/XCM-1080p-VGA-box/Detail) XCM 1080p VGA Box: Converting component inputs to VGA output.

Cheaper option = not play in HD.
You can google for component VGA box and see what results you get.

You may also consider the Neoya X2VGA 2 -- which has been discounted down to $59.95. It has two component inputs and also a VGA passthrough, so you can keep your PC hooked up at the same time.
Note that it won't handle 480i for anything besides setting up your system -- 480p is the basic minimum.
I've had mine for about a year. Picture quality is great, as you'd expect. The passthrough comes in real handy, too, as I hook up a PC or my Mac to my TV every now and then. I use it primarily to hook up my 360 and Wii. Again, it works quite well.
