One of the best things about achievement points is their impact on "cheat codes". If you want your gamerscore to go up, you have to do it the old-fashioned way: you earn them, (credit to John Houseman).

That's not to say that I have never used a cheat code, (the ammo,armor cheat for GTA3, GTA VC, and GTA SA in particular), because I have. But I find myself less interested in knowing what codes are out there in recent years. And having to earn Achievements has been part of the reason.

I'm 100% certain that the game is a pack-in, but you may get lucky and find a store that has run out of that pack.

I don't think most retailers would take this into consideration. After all, the ad doesn't say "non-HDMI model."

The issue you might run into with the price match is in this clause of the BB PM policy: Exclusions:
The Best Buy Price Guarantee does not apply to our or our competitors' free offers, limited-quantity items, open-box items, clearance items, mail-in incentives, financing or bundle offers. The policy does not apply to typographical errors or a competitor's price that results from a price match.

So since this is a bundle offer, some Best Buys might not honor it... but they aren't the strictest with this policy. If I get to Best Buy, and they have the HDMI version, I am totally going for the PM there. Especially since they likely won't have the Table Tennis game and knock that off the price(or give me an equally priced game, either way).

FYI I got Walmart to PM CC's ad on the 360 to a point. As they do not carry Table Tennis they could not give it to me for free nor would they sub any other game but I did get the 360(HDMI) and wireless controller for 349.99. They dropped the price of the 360 to 329.99 and the controller to 20.00.

Check the deals thread from when CC did the free controller deal with the PS3 at the price drop point for the success rate with some CAGs.

If he brings the ad and his receipt up to Best Buy, can he get the price adjustment and get the stuff free from the Circuit City deal? Or does the 110% adjustment not apply to free stuff deals?


It's a YMMV. Two Best Buys didn't allow me to PM it citing it as a "promotional offer" - one for the "2 days only" part and the other for the free items. The third Best Buy did it for me.

I ended up picking up Stranglehold for $40... Circuit City had the game for $47 in their weekly ad, and I found a $10 off Stranglehold coupon on Slickdeals.com. I think the original coupon came with the DVD edition of Hard Boiled, but I printed it out and it worked fine. Awesome game for $37+tx!
