I was at a local Blockbuster today and they had about 30-40 used copies of Max Payne 2. The games were marked at $19.99, not bad for a game that's only a couple months old. The only games I looked at were PS2, so I'm not sure if this is the price for the X-Box version as well.

I heard the PS2 version is terrible. Get the PC version if possible.

Why is it so bad? Major slowdown or something?

The game is terrible in all aspects anyway. I swear, every three levels the guy gets shot, falls off a building, or gets shot AND falls off a building.

Some people may not care, but I know I do, at Blockbuster, the one near me anyway, the games they sell used usually 99% of the time do not come in the original cases, but rather Blockbusters cases which are crap, the instructions may or may not come with it, usually they do not, and the game disc has a huge Blockbuster do not remove label on it that is a pain in the butt to remove. Not worth the $19.99 in my opinion unless you do not care about the condition of the game and case.

Amen, bruthah... because of those damn stickers I tend to skip Blockbuster deals unless the game ends up being really ridiculously cheap. It's especially bad when you use one of those CD binders to hold your games, because it sticks the the plastic and you have to peel the CD from the binder every time you take it out. I remember back in '99, though, getting some PS1 games that didn't have the sticker. I guess Blockbuster was just cooler back then :roll: .

The crown jewel of my Blockbuster CAG acquisitions: Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo for $10. Look it up on Ebay and you'll see what I mean :lol: No box and no manual, but that's a frigging awesome game that you won't find ANYWHERE these days, so I'm glad I got it when I did.

Maybe it's just the Blockbusters around here, but none of my preowned games I've bought from them in the last year+ have had the protective stickers on them.

My local Blockbuster doesn't use stickers, but rather permanent marker....which is probably worse I suppose.

There's a ton of them here for PS2 and Xbox. What's the trade-in value of them at EB these days (assuming you get a manual)? If it's more than $15 it might be worthwhile since renting the game will cost about $6.

Once I saw a used game on the shelf at EB that still had the "blockbuster previewed" sticker on the case, so I know they aren't above taking Blockbuster games (as long as you get instructions).

not so sure about in store, but the online trade in credit is as follows:

PS2 = $25

Xbox = $22
