Oh, there's next to no replay value at all. I'll play the series again in a decade, but that's it. Still, I easily get $30 out of each game... and that plush Phoenix looks really cool. I look forward to seeing what extras we get with Apollo Justice.

yeah you should. they probably will have it so that when you pick up the game you get the plush. just make sure you get to eb early on release day or call ahead to see if they got them in.

PW3 will be like PW2; unfortunately, there won't be any forensics like in PW1. All 3 games are ports of GBA games that were released in Japan several years ago. They added basic touchscreen functionality, but they're basically the same as the GBA games.

The one exception is Case 5 of PW1, which was a bonus case created especially for the DS port, and used the touchscreen for fingerprinting and searching for blood stains.

If you're looking for that kind of gameplay, you might want to wait for Ace Attorney 4: Apollo Justice. It was developed from the ground up for the DS, and should feature a lot of stuff like that. It was released earlier this year in Japan, so it should show up here sometime in 2008.

You also aren't guaranteed to get the bonus with the online order, though your odds are good if you order now.

I agree, PW had lots of charm halfway through the game, and only continued to gain more and more charm, and it was too bad, because I had plenty of other games to play, but PW was the one I was playing instead. Phoenix Wright is a brilliant game.

As for the plush, I hope to go and preorder the game soon in store to see if they actually have the plush. Anyone know if when I preorder instore, I will get the plush at the time of preorder, or when I pick up that game?

Well, in order to reserve or preorder a copy, I think you have to put down a $5 deposit at EB/GS. I would also think that they already have their orders in so you maybe out of luck.

However, I know that they typically get a couple extras in and I've picked up the PSP carbonite case that way.

Woohoo! I finally went to go preorder my copy of PW3 today (because in addition to being cheap, I'm also lazy, and therefore waited until the last minute), and they had the plushies! Well, plushie to be exact, since the guy said it was the last one (he didn't even seem to know about them, so it might have been the only one).

It's pretty awesome, though it does seem kinda cheap (like it'd be no more than $5 or so if they sold it in stores). It's still a great addition to have to my growing preorder bonus collection.

Yes, you can get a full refund on your pre-order. I did this when my GS ran out of the PW2 styli. I will do this with 3 if they don't get the plushie, and wait for the game to drop to $20.

I read that one link about some guy complaining about the size of the plushie, which I thought was a bit of an over reaction from the author. From my friends who sent to SDCC, I already knew that it was keychain size. Plus, it's free so no complaining here. :)

I adjusted my schedule yesterday so I could pick it up, but of course its being released today, when I will be unavailable to get it. Well, preorders are held for 48 hours I think so I should be fine retrieving it Thursday... though the excitement's gone. If I don't get the keychain then I'll have no reservations against asking for a refund.

Yeah, I also went to Gamestop yesterday, since they said it would be in Tuesday. The guy checked the computer and said it shipped Tuesday and will be here Wednesday (today). They still didn't get the "plush", and he didn't even really seem to know about the free preorder gift. When I reserved it, I asked the guy, and he said they'll get it when the game comes in. If they never get any, I'm definitely cancelling my preorder for a crummy keychain.

- It's about 1.5-2 inches tall
- It can barely be called a plushie since it seems to be no way plush

Call another store nearby and ask to talk to the District Manager. Not allowing someone to cancel a pre-order is a fireable offense.

Kind of disappointed, really. Capcom rep says to just call GS customer service because it's out of their hands, but I doubt that'll really do anything significant (supplies are limited, return it if you are unsatisfied, etc). Not really worried about returning it and waiting for prices to drop since I want to play the game, but I wanted that plushie, darn it. :/

Picked up my game about 2 hours after opening, and the employees working didn't even know there was a preorder bonus. They looked around and said they must not have gotten them in yet and to check back in the next day. Seeing everything else that has been posted here, I have no hope in them actually ever getting any in.

I just wonder if I can convince them to give me some other preorder bonus in its place...maybe one of the ugly Castlevania figures.

There appears to be some miscommunication between our sales department (Who gets our games out to the various retailers) and Digital River (who fulfills the orders with customers). The game is not actually back-ordered... Digital River just hasn't received enough copies from us to ship them out to everybody.

We're working as fast as possible to make sure Digital River gets all the copies they need and is able to fulfill everyone's order. I apologize for the delay you are experiencing, and definitely know how you guys feel about not getting the game.

On the bright side, everyone will get their plushy, and as a matter of fact, some should have already received theirs, as Digital River does have those in stock, and have told us that they have shipped some of the plushies (despite not having the actual games to ship).

Alright, I talked to customer service, and what we will do is, if you did not receive your pre-order gift, you can then email/fax/mail/bring in person/telepathically-transfer-us your pre-order purchase receipt from GS/EB, and we will send you a plushie free of charge.

Also, for those that said they were having trouble with the discount code that was a gift from the previous Ace Attorney order... please file a report with our Customer Service and we'll help with giving you the discount right away.
So in case you pre-ordered and picked up the game at an actual store but did not receive the bonus (like me) there's good news.

For those curious about how to email Capcom for the pre-order bonus, here is the response I received:

1. A digital photo [of the pre-order receipt] is perfectly fine as long as we can see that you did infact preorder the game.

2. You want to go to the our Capcom US page and click on Support. In the support page there will be a link called Ask a Question. Click on that, fill in the appropriate information and you should be able to send us a message w/your digital image attached via webmail.

Yep, but it's a huge YMMV for $15 at Wal-mart. Go there first before returning to GS.

The $15 price is a clearance that happens sometimes when a correct mixture of new item + dumb team member = not in the system (yet) so it "must be on clearance".

I am still playing through the original game for the first time so I wouldn't really play T&T until after 2 arrives and i finish that off due to some continuing plotlines between games (or so I've heard) Now I actually want to go to Walmart though. I opened my T&T when I picked it up last Thursday because I'm now paranoid of cases missing games... it didn't have that Y-fold sealed on the top nor the top-cut shrinkwrap look seen on Konami games, I think the cut was on the case's side that opens.

Even though it was new & I probably won't get around to this game until late '08, I thought peace of mind was worth opening it to make sure the game was in since you never know what you'll get with a "new" game coming out of Gamestop.
