OK so I saw some one's Walmart story today so I thought I'd share mine from a month or two back. I go into Walmart with my friend Carlos to check out a clearance sale they were having on games. So anyway we see a Nvidia 5200ultra for $20, I tell him to pick it up for his poor cousin's. So we buy it and get back to his house and open it up to install in his cousin's computer when we see that a LAN card is in the box and not a 5200 video card. So now it's 10 mins to 10pm and Walmart is about to close. We make a mad dash back to the store and I explain to the clerk what happened. The lady just plan out calls me a liar, I keep calm and ask to speak to a manager and she freaks out about how it's time for her to go home! My friend gets another card and I open it while the lady is calling secuirty(because I am stealing the card) I ask to speak to the manager again and she goes "I'll let you talk to the police!" So I tell her "Call them and if they come before I leave we can let them do nothing because I paid for it" So now there is like 8-10 Walmart employees all at the front counter and me and my friend calmly walk out. I leave my phone number and name on a piece of paper and tell them If they want to call the police this is my information and all I wanted is what I paid for. All the employees seem to be in shock but do nothing and me and my friend go back to his house. Now he is all afraid to go back to Walmart but I think everything is OK. Was I wrong in what I did?

I wouldn't have made too big a deal over only $20.

Inappropriate move by them.

Yes, what you did was wrong. While effective, it was brash and reckless.
You should have been more patient. You should have gotten the manager number, documented what she said (I can't help you, it's time to go home). Then, you should have come in the next day and asked to talk to the store director. If they weren't available, you ask for the numbers for thier district manager and corporate. If they keep giving you flack, you go up the ladder and contiune to make life hell for them with thier bosses and thier bosses bosses.
Either work within the system or write it off as a lost cause. You handled the situation completely wrong.

No, you paid for the Nvidia 5200 ultra, and it wasn't in the package. They should've given it to you. Try again in the middle of the day, the manager should be there by then.

That's because he's trying to get what he paid for, and you were just trying to was be a lameass theif. There's a difference.
He handled the situation incorrectly but didn't have malicious intent.
You did. He was brash and foolhardy.
You're just a thieving ass and a whiny bitch.

I doubt you're exactly a person anyone should believe when it comes to matters of ethics and proper behavior. We've already seen your total lack of scruples.

I sooo would have done the same (except leave my name/phone) You should get what you pay for, and they should be more concerned with the customer. Damn Walmart. Shaq-fu them.

Moral of the story, ALWAYS check the clearance items BEFORE you leave the store. This seems to be a common thing. You're not the first person I've heard this type of story from.

Best advice I've read in this thread. Make sure you do it right in front of the clerk as well.

Nick, where are you located? I'm rolling through Wisconsin in about a week's time. All the big places: Strum, Antigo, Wausau. Probably Madison.
Big whirlwind tour.

What the those are all small towns except for Madison, shouldn't it be like Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Eau Claire, La Crosse, and maybe like River Falls.
