the perks you get are a 15% discount and a chance to get anything before they hit the sales floor (i.e. rare games from trade in or shipment). If you like to fill your room or house up with videogame stuff then you could take the marketing standees or posters. Thats pretty much it.

Wow...15% is not much of a discount. A $50 game will go for $35. I expected it to be slightly higher..

Well coming from a person who has worked at EB. You get your huge 10% dicount on games firstly. Secondly you get to constantly be calling the manager at home so you know when you work next because got help them if they make schedule. Most of the day will consist of you straightening game cases...if you aren't sent to the stock room to sort the mess back there. This may be just my local EB, but it's not nearly as glamourous as one might think.

Stores have to pay $40-45 for new games, so your getting a good deal with a 15% discount.

Hehe, I wish this math were correct, I'd have no problem dealing with the shit I deal with if this was true.

If I ever, by CHANCE ALONE, go into an EB and see you selling a used game to someone as new, I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU.

if you work for EB you can go to xbox.com/retail and get some cheap games for your X-box..thats about the only perk besides picking out a few good used games that I've found..

Having worked there, I can tell ya.. there's not many perks. A few promo items (How many people can brag about having an N-Gage t-shirt and promo deck of playing cards? Honestly. Well, at least I can).. 15% off (get the Edge card and get a whopping 25% off preowneds).. that's about it..

Maybe if you are a small game store. EB bulk orders so they get it for 42 or lower.

Man, you are really hating on that Gamestop job....if you don't like it, get the shaq-fu out already. Nobody cares that you hate your job and it happens to be at Gamestop. I for one enjoy my Gamestop job, and I know all the people in my store do as well.

Congrats on your new job. If you act somewhat intelligent you'll probably be running all the stores in your region within a month or so.

A few of the guys I know that work there have 'first dibs' on collectable trade-in games. You know you've seen it. Foolish people trading in rare games for peanuts of store credit. Just a few months ago, some fool traded in an entire box of SNES games, all mint with boxes and all original packaging. I saw the leftovers, lol. The guys that work there already picked the good titles like Axelay, Super Contra and Actraiser. The job does not pay great, but has great perks for gamers.
