I recently moved to WA and didn't have enough room for the desktop monitor, so we just brought the desktop and decided we would buy a monitor while up here. Well little did I know...college books are FUCKING expensive so my monitor and Xbox 360 fund went up in dust. Is there some sort of cable I can buy that will hook onto the monitor port of the desktop and to the USB or some port on my laptop?

And I was thinking about selling it but decided against it (if your wondering about the thread I posted earlier).

You cannot use your laptop's LCD as a desktop display. I'm not sure if there are ways to do it the way you want.

Unfortunately not, since the connector of the screen is no where near a VGA configuration. It would probably take a lot of modding to try that.

Try to get in contact with the IT department at your school and see if they have any extra monitors they can give you or sell you cheap. Every school has different policies on this so its YMMV, but my college was known for giving students their old computers and monitors for really cheap.

Check Craigslist. People are always giving away (or sell for really cheap) CRT monitors.
