I looked around Ebay and saw some cheap games i wanted, such as Legend of zelda wind waker(99c). I don't know if i can trust them, and since i don't wanna use Paypal, can i trust them, and should the payments be quick?(if i use personal check)

eh I don't think many people accept personal checks... it's usually money order or Paypal. And I games like that won't end at 99 cents, trust me.

You can always check a seller's feedback and make sure to read the item description...

Unless they're BUY IT NOW for .99 but then they'll have like $20 S&H.

Plus, what's the difference between a personal check and a bank's check?

Just make sure they have some good feedback, and you should be alright.

Most of the bidding happens on items during the last couple hours of the auction. Those games will go well over 99 cents.

As of now, there are still 2 days + on those games, like chitown already said, it will definately go higher. The only reason they list it that low is because they save money on putting up items.

low starting price also sparks more interest

I was about to say that myself. Usually it's best to wait to the end to try to bid for the game. It's hard though. :/

There are very few reasons not to use paypal (generally, you're way too young or something). Paypal gives you some decent coverage if someone scams you. But seriously, the best way to tell if video games are good or not are:

A) Look at what they're selling for (average), if a one seller is way below the rest, read the description carefully (some people sell just the case, or the manual or some crap), make sure the game is region 1, and make sure the seller has some feedback.
B) Buy sealed if you're really that worried. I've bought I think 3 or 4 used games off of eBay, and almost all were off the same seller who was very professional and quick and I watch his auctions now. I generally won't bid on something unless there's a non-stock photo of it, so I know what the case and possibly the disk look like before I buy.

Unfortunately, these are the types of auctions people prefer and pay a premium for. But whatever floats your boat.

Maybe i'll win this.
here search whatever you want to get here in the completed listings
http://search-completed.ebay.com/yoursearch

whatever the average sale price of that item is, prepare to pay around the same.
sometimes you get lucky and get it lower and sometimes someone will snipe win you last minute.
and like others have mention if it is possible it is best to place your bid in the last minute of the auction.

good luck

try not to use checks... personal checks you know what it is, bank checks are like cashers check or money order... not save at all...

as for me, i avoid ebay for the bad experiences i had... you win so, you lose some...

hmm, no one has told me what's the difference between a personal check and a bank check.

Personal checks are checks you write as an IOU to the person and it takes several days for them to be sure that it clears after they deposit it into their account. Sometimes it can be up to a 7 business day time-frame for them to be sure, depending on their bank's clearing procedures.

A bank check is one that you go into the bank and pay for up front. You can also accomplish the same thing with a money order and you can usually save a few dollars if you buy a money order in a convenience store instead of a bank.
Regardless of where you purchase, it will have the same security to the seller that the funds are pretty much guaranteed to them and there should not be a reason for them to wait to ship the item.

also make sure the seller was very good feedback like 100% postive

Just because someone does not have 100% positive, it doesn't mean you should skip them. One person could have decided to be difficult and leave negative feedback before contacting the seller. If this happens there is no way to get 100% back.

Read the sellers feedback and look for trends. If you see a recurring theme then move on, but if it's one or two people who complain about things that every other person says the seller did well with, then you might just be looking at a few isolated incidents that probably aren't indicative of the seller's general practice.

Don't trust ebay for used GBA games. They're all Chinese bootlegs of terrible quality.

I got RE4 for $10 (including S&H) and Guitar Hero 2 sealed for only $70. I highly suggest you to use PayPal no matter what and always make sure to check the seller's feedback and ask any questions if you don't feel confident about buying the item.

Well, you got lucky with RE4, you cant expect to find that game for $10 shipped each time. (Unless your talking about the PS2 version, not Wii. Then thats a few dollars under the average sell price, you just got a better deal. And again, you cant always get these deals everytime)

Not all GBA games are bootlegs, you just have to play it smart, like they're selling GBA games "New" but its sans box and manuals. Theres a guide out there somewhere, I think theres one on CAG too.

I would always try to get a shot of the back of the disk to make sure it's playable. If there isn't one up, you can always contact the seller and ask for one. If they aren't quick to reply, I would be wary.
