I wanted to know my options in importing saves from internet sites (eg Gamefaqs) to my PS2.

The way I do it is with AR MAX software and a USB thumb drive. The 'deluxe' AR MAX product comes with the thumbdrive, but you can use your own, as long as its not too big.

The AR MAX is basically a software disc you put in your PS2. Then you take the thumbdrive with the save file on it and stick in the usb slot on your PS2. You can then transfer it with to a memorycard with the MAX software. The files can simply be dragged and dropped onto the thumbdrive on your computer, no software is necessary for that part.

Now keep in mind that the PS2 will not recognize the giant sized thumbdrives people use today. The one that coms with the AR MAX is only 64MB. But Ive sucessfully used a 256MB drive and it worked fine. However I have a 2GB drive and my PS2 just cant see/recognize it.

Ive also successfully transferred saves using a 256MB data partition on my Creative Zen Micro mp3 player, and even using my digital camera with a 256MB SD card in it.
