Now I won't sugar coat it... when Archlord came out a year ago the critics HATED it.

But now that you can download it for free, and play with no monthly fee, I would say it's the best free to play MMO out there.

You can pay money to get chantra, which is a special ingame currency used to buy special items, such as a stone that increases your xp gain for 14 days, or a set of wings that make you run faster, or other things. These items aren't needed to play, they're just a bonus for customers willing to pay. $15 is enough to be able to have a lot of chantra.

I think Archlord is a good CAG play now that it's free. Worth a look!

In that game I'm Vroshnak, an orc sorceror, on the server that starts with B.

Any game that make you pay through their item shop with real money suck.

Those who pay will play better than those who don't pay. And those who pay more will play better than those who pay less.

Korean blow for making games.

But you don't pay any upfront cost for the game (that saves about $50), and you don't pay a monthly fee ($20 a month).

If you play the game and like it, dropping $20 on the game will get you all the special items you need for a long time. If you don't like it, you've spend $0.

I don't know that microtransactions are all that bad.

Nevertheless, calling it "free" is incorrect.

Microtransactions are the devil. I will never support games that try and pull that crap.

Nevertheless, calling it "free" is incorrect.

Would you agree with the industry standard term "free to play" or F2P?

The term specifies that the playing of the game is free. The optional items are for pay.
