According to Kotaku.com, Eternal Sonata is scheduled to be jumping to PS3.

http://www.namcobandaigames.com/games/eternalsonata/ (http://www.namcobandaigames.com/games/eternalsonata/)

Also according to Kotaku, Beautiful Katamari is scheduled to be jumping to both PS3...and Wii!

Great news all round....if true

oh my the 360 is going to fall, the 360 is going to fall, look all its exclusives are rolling out on them. WOW!! oh man!

I'd like to try Katamari w/ the motion controls on PS3 (as an option), might be fun. I'm just glad that Katamari is coming to PS3, thats a game that isn't going to do much as an exclusive for Namco, and MS, so it should be for everyone.

I wasn't trying to start a "360 FAILS" thread.

Just bring the good news that the PS3 is getting games previously thought exclusive.

The only games I'd have left for 360 are PGR4 and Blue Dragon. :(

If this news is true, I will be very happy, since Katamari controlled like crap with the 360 controller, and I really like Eternal Sonota.

Eh, I could care less about them. Katamari on 360 is the worst one ever and the highest priced. Eternal Sonata is just another average JRPG with all the cliches and stupid stories that the other ones have, tell me something interesting.

Ace Combat was already confirmed to be a timed exclusive by Xbox magazine.

Yeah, I agree, this isn't going to bring out the wolves. That being said, I really hope this was just something that wasn't supposed to be revealed until TGS and not a site mistake.

I played the ES demo on the 360 at a friend's place and it was a lot of fun. Just an old fashioned JRPG, which is absolutely fine by me!

For me, it does! I was about to buy an Xbox 360, with Eternal Sonata being the push over the line. Now I may just go for a PS3.

Seems like a quick 'oops, too soon' fix. When Eternal Sonata was initially announced on the ESRB site, it was for both the 360 and the PS3, but now it's nowhere to be found.

For me, it does! I was about to buy an Xbox 360, with Eternal Sonata being the push over the line. Now I may just go for a PS3.
I was in the same boat. There's a good number of 360 games I'd love to play, but so many of them are either going to the PC or PS3 that I seem to be better off waiting and just killing my backlog...

The Mana Knight

Now Namco Bandai removed it, but I still feel those two will come (especially Eternal Sonota, because it has been leaked before):

Although Eternal Sonota is my 2nd most wanted game the rest of the year, I'm going to put it on hold.

meh. Katamari was great when it came out, but I'm not sure how great a 3rd iteration would be. I've been hearing mixed reviews about Eternal Sonota, so I hope we get a demo.

I'm sure once the PS3 has shifted more units (or even before) games like this will start to be released.

I can't see Namco turning their backs completely on a company they've supported so much in the past.

And its actually quite good-- in comparison to the Blue Dragon Demo, I think its ahead by leaps and bounds. I'm picking it up for sure-- although if its delayed release for the Ps3 I'll just nab it for xbox.

Here's hoping for both. The pained shriek that accompanied my reading of Beautiful Katamari going 360 only is still talked about in my neighborhood, though it seems like the woman down the street will regain her hearing after all.

I would buy them both, even if they're only average. Average Katamari is better than a lot of other things, and an RPG starring Chopin? How cool is that?

Are you listening Namco? I'll buy them both. If they're not outrageous, I might even buy them (gasp) full price.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned it, but I'm pretty sure Beautiful Katamari was never a 360 exclusive, as in the Wii version was already announced when Namco said it won't be on PS3. Granted, the Wii version will probably be different enough if they go for unique controls that it won't be the exact same game, but still.

Eternal Sonata on PS3 isn't a shock. Katamari isn't either. But Katamari probably isn't going to be any good. Eternal Sonata looks like a PS3 buy to me.

Piggybacking on Mana Knight's thread about Ryu Go Gotoku 3, this week's Famitsu confirms Trusty Bell for a Spring 08 release in Japan. Hopefully it shouldn't be difficult at all getting it stateside for PS3, since the translation's already there.

Both of these games are niche titles and outside the hardcore gaming community will have little impact on PS3 hardware sales by going multiplatform, IMO.

The original /intent/ of the thread wasn't to say Oh NOES!!1!! but to possibly inform people who are hopeful fans of these games that they might get to play them on PS3.

At least that is what I think. I was really looking forward to Eternal Sonata, and now I'm wondering if I should hold off and see if it comes out for PS3. I had it preordered for the faceplate just on a lark, but faceplates aren't a big deal to me.

Meh, more "sloppy seconds" for PS3. Unfortunately, unless the PS3 version is head and shoulders above the 360 version or has something "special" to me that the 360 version doesn't have (i.e. Hardboiled on Blu-Ray like Stranglehold), I'm going the 360 way every time. I can't even say that PS3 getting a timed exclusive first would sway me that way (i.e. Virtua Fighter 5's lack of online on PS3).

I'm still glad I got VF5 on PS3 though, because the 360 D-pad makes every fighter/2D game unplayable IMO. I dunno, playing an RPG on a PlayStation just has that oh so special feeling.

Other than EA, most ports to PS3 are getting better (like GRAW2, DiRT, etc.), so I think it will turn out well.

I would rather play it now and get a free faceplate than wait 6+ months for an extra character and clothes. TMK, why don't you just sell your 360 since there are no games you are going to play on it and it is so loud and is just going to break?

Most multi-platform games will go to PS3 in my case, but there are still some awesome exclusives I want for 360. :)

Well, I'm worried about any game console breaking. I won't have my PS3 fold because I'm a little too paranoid it may break leaving it on too long.

The faceplates do look sweet though, but I seriously don't have the time to play the game until mid next year (with my big backlog). :(

I wasn't trying to be a dick(not that you made it seems like I was trying to, just setting this straight), just seems like you don't use your 360 that much. One of the things that probably helps a 360 get the RRoD, is use. ;) Anyway, If Beautiful Katamari is coming to the PS3 in October with tight motion controls, I will get it for the PS3. But I really could go for a new Katamari fix. For me, these games are always fun.

So if Katamari, Eternal Sonata, and Ace Combat aren't exclusives anymore (or never were, either way), why not Culdcept Saga? I seriously doubt Microsoft paid for its exclusivity and in Japan, they would probably sell a lot more copies if they ported it to anything but the 360. It just doesn't make any sense at all.

QFMFT!

I would exchange all those games in a heartbeat if the PS3 could get Culdcept Saga. I'm hoping, once the PS3 picks up speed in Japan (it's doing better than the 360, but still selling pretty horribly), they'll consider a port.

I still enjoy the PS2 version, so if this doesn't happen, I think I'll still be content with the PS2 one (300 hours and still going strong!)

While the 360 crowd has gotten to enjoy more JRPG titles than the PS3 this past year, we'll be grabbing one of their exclusives, Eternal Sonata, come early 2008. Instead of just porting over the skin and bones of the original version, the PS3 version will include a number of extras to enhance our cel-shaded experience.

Bonus content! The very phrase is exciting, but then often times the "bonus" will be an unlockable soundtrack feature, a piece of artwork, or something incredibly lame, unlike all those old Working Designs collections. Those were great. Anyway, Eternal Sonata pulls out some worthwhile content, like making previously nonplayable characters Serenade and Prince Crescendo totally playable. There will also be added story sequences, probably for these characters. Sounds like a winner for the PS3's RPG library.
http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/10/31/ps3-eternal-sonata-gets-plenty-of-bonus-content/

Soundtrack unlocking seems lovely. I'm definitely going to wait for the PS3 version now.

UH OHHHHH! When PS3 wins the Blu ray / HD DVD war... its all over for Wii and PS3... so now you got a machine that's the primary unit for HD Movies and Games... because movie companies are going to back PS3 for its movie features, and as the PS3 gets that backing, developers might as well jump on as well. You know if this works out, Sony could have just married movies and games markets together - that's definitely innovative.

Well, Fye and Wal-Mart now list the game online for PS3:

http://www.fye.com/viewcategory.htm?categoryId=474624

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5774972

I seriously think it will come, since Namco Bandai listed it on their website for a short period of time (Wal-Mart lists a Wii version also). However, I definitely don't think the release date is right.

How long do you think it will be until we get an official announcement?Until a timed exclusive agreement ends. Although there's no 100% guarantee of this happening, I still believe it because Namco's site listed a PS3/Wii version at one point, and there was talk of there being a playable PS3 version at one point (but then it was canceled, leading me to believe MS might have paid to get a time exclusive or Namco wanted to finish the 360 version, then work on other versions).

My guess is sometime this summer, but we won't hear anything for a while (if it's being ported).
