At least the PS3 is region free, since I don't think Yakuza did well here, and chances look bleak for Ryu Ga Gotoku 2 coming stateside.
Any pics?
EDIT: Just checked the link, and saw Trusty Bell listed for Spring 2008 on the PS3. I'm sure you already know this, but that game is more commonly known in the US as Eternal Sonata (just to lay to rest any fear of B/N's website "slips" being errors).

There should be pics at TGS. I hope they put English text at least (maybe for an Asia version), because we could all import if Sega leaves it Japan only.

How was Yakuza for the PS2? I keep seeing it on the shelves but I'm a little iffy on picking it up. I have to make my purchases count :/
looking at it kinda reminds me of GTA

fuck them.
fuck them
Now they are making a 3rd when and they still haven't brought 2 over.
They just need to throw subtitles on it, I don't need nor want crappy Hollywood voice acting.

very very sweet
but not so sweet if nothing comes out here ><
I agree just throw some subs on and you'd have us (well, me at least) at "presented by sega"
They got some hollywood talent for the voices of Yakuza 1 but they were so emotionless might as well have just got some unknowns. Just save yourselves the trouble Sega!

I think the game would do just fine on PS3 though, due to small competition currently.

Mana, maybe it's on my end but this link doesn't work. Your OP link does work though.
I hope they send part 2 down our way. I'm almost done with the first one, just "casually" taking my time on it. :D I kinda wished they set this still in modern times. But it does look nice...I might get this depending how it turns out.
On another note, anyone watch the movie yet? I was wondering how it was.

It's a hit-or-miss game. It's not really a GTA: Japan, but somewhat similar if GTA was super-linear and featured a heavier emphasis on story.
I would call a quasi-Shenmue, only not as good.
Even so, I would still love to see them bring it stateside, or even just have an English text option (which should be NO problem, considering the amount of space an BRD can hold). The more exclusive PS3 games, the better.

Hehe thanks. It's been a while since I watched this show though. I think I left off halfway in the series.

I'd totally pick this up when, and if, it comes over here. I still want Yakuza 2. Hopefully, they just leave Yakuza 3 in Japanese. Although having everyone talk like "Fuck you, you mother fucking motherfucker! I fucking hope you fucking choke on your motherfucking blood when I fucking beat the fucking motherfucking shit out of your motherfucking ass!" was amusing in Yakuza, it'd be out of place in 1605 era Japan.

Yakuza is good. Its like GTA but without guns and more hand to hand fighting. The story is pretty good too. I don't like GTA but I liked Yakua a lot. Actually I still ain't beat it yet, have been on the final part of the game for months and haven't played it at all....I need to beat that I'm soo close.
