It's not like its against the rules to say M$ rather then "MS or Microsoft" or like I'm spamming or anything. Maybe its because I lost respect for them as a game company (not saying they suck, just dissapointed at how they handle repairs and such). Or maybe its more fun to type the $. Whatever the reason is, I could care less of what people say.

It doesn't bother me any more than someone referring to Mac users as "Zealots" or "Jobs lovers"... or linux users as "commies" (I own a Mac and two linux machines.)

It doesn't bother me that some people have resorted to the online equivalent of "neener neener" when referring to the "other" console they may or may not own... as if penis size has anything to do with console purchases (I figured it was just the SUV buyers... but hey... you learn something new every day...)

It's all about how they make the money.

They've used their OS platform monopoly to bully hardware suppliers and consumers into buying package deals on Micro$oft applications, instead of letting the market decide about which of these add-ons to purchase.

They also try and kill off competition with FUD and BS patent lawsuits (rather then bettering the competition by creating a superior product) Just look at all the professionally-created official-looking FUD they're spreading about open source.

If you have a superior product that the public loves, then good on ya. I think they actually have such a product with the XBox 360 (despite it's hardware flaws) However I'll call them Micro$oft as long as they continue to act like a monopoly in the OS biz.

OP - I could always call them MonopolySoft if that makes you feel better :twisted:

I can't stand when people say "M$" or "Micro$oft". I actually wonder if typing $ instead of "S" has become so habitual to them, that it's faster for them to automatically type the $ symbol than actually hovering their ring finger over the S key. Or maybe I'm digging too deeply into it and people that hate Microsoft don't know how to type at all. It's convenient for anyone to type the $ key instead of S when they type with their two index fingers and their nose.
