It was announced in Famitsu this week. I'm glad the game is coming to PS3 and can't wait for it. :D I really hope Atlus brings this stateside.

I know most people didn't like this game, but I loved it. Hot Cocoa here I come!

While I liked the first game, it took me a while to get used to the controls. Hopefully this next one fixes that problem this time around.

I thought the game was charming and unique. Too bad it's on PS3, which means I won't play the sequel.

I have no opinion on the original game, though I bought it.
Because I couldn't get past the awful controls. It's like they went out of their way
to make it awkward.
I'm going to be very wary of the second game. I somehow suspect they will make use of the Sixaxis in a way that will make Lair's seem like a wonderful control scheme. Then they will hide a supposedly charming and wonderful game behind it.

I wonder if this was the Atlus PS3 exclusive game. If so then shit. I wanted a new SMT game.

This was already deep into development on the PS2. The damn thing was PLAYABLE at LAST YEAR'S TGS

http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/bumpytrot2/index.htmlMany think moving it to PS3 was good, because there were a lot of technical problems with the first one due to the PS2 not being powerful enough.

I'm bumping my old thread (meant to for a while). The official site got a slight update in Japan (a few months ago), and these images have been floating around:

Those images are sex; I love the texture work. Pretty funny to see my post hoping for a 2008 release. I doubt we'll be playing this in English until 2010.

I really hope this ends up coming out over here. That is the one things that I really miss on the PS3 from the PS2 days, the quirky Japanese games. Sure we still get the big stuff, but during the lifespan of the PS2 we also got a bunch of the smaller games like Steambot.
I will be extremely happy if this and the new Atelier game both make it out over here.

I will be extremely happy if this and the new Atelier game both make it out over here.Atelier will make it over for sure (NIS brings pretty much all Atelier games stateside except for one DS one (one DS one is coming stateside, the other isn't)). This game probably will too since ATLUS has published many Irem games.
Most of the reason we just didn't see many of those games on PS3 is because next gen development costs have increased quite a bit (from most devs only needing to sell 100k to break even last gen, to 500k in order to break even this gen) compared to last gen and most of the Japanese market is now on handhelds (compared to PS2 last gen). That's pretty much why we just don't see many of these games come alone, just very risky (some Japanese developers like Hudson stated they could not afford to develop on PS3 until development costs decrease). I think we'll definitely see more of these games in the future since development kit prices dropped significantly and the PS3 userbase is over 3 million now, but it won't be anything close to last gen (partially because the costs will never get as low as last gen, unless you make downloadable games).
