Personally I normally don't dig too much samurai history and all that but since this is about the Yakuza, I'm all in. Looks great.

I'm just hoping we get fuckin' Yakuza 2. Where is it, Sega?
They're probably going to decide against bringing it over so they can replace it with a Sonic game. Because those are good.

and the sad part is 90% of the people who wanted Yakuza didn't want the hollywood voices... I'm in that boat.

We see these kinds of explanations for a lot of games, but you have to wonder what they are thinking. There must be some data to back up the assertion that bazillions in time and resources invested into a game does not equal crazy sales.
I suspect a standard localization with subtitles instead of new VA would've drawn in more niche crowd than hollywood talent drew in from the mainstream crowd.
Stupid corporations.

Yeah, I had a feeling that the game would backfire immensely as far as Sega's concerned... because those Hollywood actors couldn't be cheap, and they were completely unnecessary. While I want to point and laugh at their asinine ideas, I'm pissed that we haven't heard anything about the sequel as a result.
Sega fucks everything up.

The sad part is that I think they realize that thus having Bethesda make the next Sonic RPG >_<
I didn't like the voice overs in the U.S. version of Yakuza.... I normally prefer English voice-overs but they didn't fit the game at all this time...
I never picked up Yakuza, don't purchase games at full price and never found a deal on it. I would like to see a next-gen sequel come over here though.

Why are they making a Sonic RPG? Does Sonic even attract sales anymore? I pray that it doesn't, because every game for the last decade has sucked. Yes, every single one. Adventure, Rush -- even the best-regarded ones were dog shit. Sega seems to be an expert at running good things into the ground, so I suppose not bringing Yakuza 2 over is par for the course.

Most of the past Sonic games did very well in sales. Even the shitty ones.
Shadow the Hedgehog even sold good for fucks sake (even better than Rush on the DS did).

See, yeah, I didn't know how the sales had been for Sonic games. The fact that they sell at all disgusts the fuck out of me. It's depressing... so many good developers just make shit now, except for the off game that's decent.

it's Bioware, not Bethesda. but even if both companies were cooperating on the game, that couldn't kill my hate for sonic as a character. his design bothers the hell out of me. not sure why, but it must be some deep rooted hate from back in the Nintendo vs. Sega days. also, seeing some Sonic "fan" art fed the hate

Sonic still sells, and your opinion isn't anything but worthless, though I agree that all the 3-D Sonic games, outside Sonic And The Secret Rings, were mediocre to absolute trash.
Yakuza started out as a very Mediocre hodge-podge of GTA & Shenmue. Unless Yakuza 2 & 3 greatly improved the series, I could care less about either.

Heh after watching the video, there was about 3-4 actors I recongized in there. I do hope there's gonna be an english sub for this because I dont want some random voice instead of the original actor's in this.

Video looks good, I'll buy it...
...Oh wait, no I won't. Sega is full of douche's that most likely won't bring it over to the US.
EDIT: Ok, maybe I take that back. People are saying that in the 1up Podcast, they mention that an announcement for a US release of Yakuza 2 is coming and the game will have subs only.
I tried listening to it myself, but those people are annoying so I couldn't.
