For those of us lucky enough to live in Florida:
No sales tax on clothes and other stuff, sorry no VG or electronics:
http://www.state.fl.us/dor/taxes/holiday/sales_tax_holiday.htm
and a gas tax break of 8 cents per gallon for the month of August:
http://www.state.fl.us/dor/taxes/holiday/gas_tax_holiday.html
I fully expect there to be hoarders so get your clothes now and stock up on that gas before they run out

What about all the old people? Can't you just walk into any given house and say "grandma, it's me!" and get free, delicious baked goods?

No, I live near UCF (University of Central Florida) and VCC(Valencia Community College). There are tons of dumbass college kids all over the damn place.

CT use to do this. They stopped though. Its a cool idea, but not very practical. it was suppose to help families clothe their kids for school time. I think the linit was somethining like $200 an item. Who the hell spends up to $200 for one piece of clothing for their kid? I use to buy dress shirts, ties, and slacks during this sale.

Picked up some Ralph Lauren (did i spell it right?) polo shorts for like $23 each. One was on sale and the other actually wasn't really on sale. They gave me the on sale price though since they "misadvertised". Saved me like 12 dollars. Plus, there's no tax.....

Even without taking into account the college kids, Orlando is a horrid place to be.

I think orlando is good for visiting not living. No offence at all to anyone that lives there.
