The Tokyo Game Show 2007 is slowly approaching (Sept 20th - Sept 23rd) and it looks like some news just can't seem to contain itself. According to a Korean website (loosely translated by google), it looks like something regarding FFXIII Melody will be made. We're not entirely sure what to make of this just yet, but it looks like it will be a new title by Square-Enix. This would go right along with what Square-Enix had previously said about making the FFXIII series last 10 years with various spin-offs on various platforms. In related news, apparently this may be the only public showing of anything Final Fantasy XIII we will get as Square-Enix has already announced that the trailer will be shown behind closed doors (once again).

Sounds strange for them to already be announcing spin-offs, but I wouldn't be surprised, to be honest. Guess we'll see in a week.

I think the idea here is that it's very costly to have to develop an entirely new world every time they make a new FF game, so they make multiple games set in one world using all the design that's been paid for.

Could it be . . . an OST by chance.

D'oh! Yeah, probably a soundtrack. But the way they've given it a big name, perhaps the soundtrack is done by a full orchestra or something this time?

turns out there are a couple of strikingly similar images. Not quite the one in the Melody logo image, but close (though I think it's really just because the face is drawn at the same angle). Debunked or not though it still yet to be seen.

Don't mean to sound like a broken record but damn Square Enix put out the first version of the game at least before you announce 5 sequel/prequels/mobile versions.
