We got the preorder boxes in at GS today. I ended up preordering, comes with a beta slot.
Hopefully the beta starts up soon...doing Andariel runs in D2 is getting old.

I never got the email invite, but am able to download the Beta. So if you put in your beta code, you might want to see if you're able to start the beta.

The download link will be on the right side when... if, you can log in. It will have download the BETA in huge letters or so.
p.s. Be thankful the downloader has resume support.

I pre-ordered saturday and im still waiting on my key..
on the FAQ it sounds like beta will not end on the 7th but carry on upto the release..

Not if its starting beta now. I'm expecting another delay. If not a delay then definitely a patch at release to fix the bugs beta testers will find.

I went to Gamestop and put down the $5. Figured if I disliked the game, I could just get my money back.

The game is quite stunning, especially the music. It really does feel like a FPS Diablo; a lot of hack n' slack elements are still there.

I preordered the game at Fry's, so in the preorder box it came with a special beta key. That's how I got the privilege; but I also signed up via website prior for a 'chance' to get into the beta test from this thread. I didn't get that email yet either.

The beta is somewhat wonky. It crashes about once every hour to desktop randomly, there are some bugs like disappearing characters (requires game restart), repeated automated attack (just like you holding the attack key, but you're not pressing anything), and glitched textures.
That's what a beta is for, I guess. :)

beta is there to expose bugs and glitches, they have an internal build that is far ahead of what we are seeing..

Beta for me was/is underwhelming. I really hope they fix the icky bugs by launch. I'm probably still gonna get the Founder's Offer subscription and play the hell out of it but... I have my reservations still.

Im sure that the game will launch in much better shape than you see in Beta.. Beta is Beta and differs from the internal build..
AC2 and WoW had many issues in Beta that Poof worked just fine when the game launched.. I have confidence this game will launch in working order..
also for a game that Underwhelmed you, why would you play the hell out of it?? :)

It has a helluva lot of potential. DII 1.0 wasn't the best thing ever. I just hope they support their game with patches and such afterwards.

Just a note, they decided to disable the highest settings, much like every other demo released these days.
I can say that the single-player demo plays a bit differently from the beta, and I welcome the changes. There are bugs though, like the jumping enemy which freezes mid-air and reappears somewhere else -- teleportation where there isn't supposed to be any.
Nothing mind-blowing. I'm still torn...

just played...it's not so bad.
I'm not about to pick it up on launch but it wasn't "ps1 graphics" like people on neogaf were saying. the environments were repetitive though.

Its not about the environments. Its about the merciless slaying of a bazzilion foes. I played Diablo 2 for thousands of hours. Don't you think I found the enviroments a lil repetative at some point? I wants killings and lewtings.
Funnily, I aslo got accepted into the Beta today. I started the demo at about 5pm and the beta at about 7 and it looks the the demo is going to finish half an hour after the beta even though its half the size.

I messed around in the beta for about 20 minutes. Looks like it has potential to be quite fun, just needs more enemies on the screen at once! Needs chaos. :)
Playing multiplayer and clearing rooms with tons of baddies would be fun.
Oh, did anyone notice in one of the first quests.. You get Wart's Leg as a weapon? A very obvious Diablo reference to Wirt's Leg. :) I wonder if they hid anything else like this.

good point. repetition isn't really a negative point in these games, it's a given.
I really like this game from the Beta. I might even buy this game.
