Dead Rising 2?

I remember hearing something about Dead Rising 2 being announced at the Tokyo Game show...

Loved the first one, has anyone heard anything about it?

Dead Rising producer Keiji Inafune has set the record straight on the current status of a sequel to Dead Rising for Xbox 360, confirming that a follow-up isn't currently in production. This puts the rumors to rest about all production news about Dead Rising 2; such as our last post.

However, it is a title under consideration at Capcom Japan.

In a recent interview with Game Informer, Inafune said "...we're not making it [Dead Rising 2] right now," but he did say it was something that he'd love to make.

"I would love to be able to take some time off from my business-side responsibilities just to be able to produce it myself - that's how much I love the game and would love to do it".

He added that it's only a possibility that he'd be working on a Dead Rising 2.

"If it was announced, I might be the one back in Japan making it. That's the title that they're considering back in Capcom Japan that I would want to produce the most, out of anything they're thinking about. That's how much I really love it. But I'm very busy", Inafune said.

It made major money for Capcom. They'll make a sequel eventually. No doubt about it.

Of course it is in production; they're just not letting up on anything. They would have to be dumbshits and business school dropouts not to see that they have a veritable cash cow on their hands. They successfully created to new IPs this gen already and you can be sure that they'll fleece them as they have done in the past (Devil May Cry anyone). I still hope for a Chaos Legion sequel, but that game didn't receive the credit it was due, nor the praise.

RE5: Wii - sure it will take some scaling back, but they are early enough in development to develop them in tandem, and really, after the roaring success of RE4: Wii, they'd be stupid not to

Where's Maximo 3? I'm the only person I know that has beaten Maximo 1 and 2, everyone says it's so hard I don't think it's that bad. I'd love to play through 3 and along time ago they talked about it but it fell off the earth. Also they should do a 3-d Demon's Crest.

I just bought the first one and it showed up in one of those butt-ugly Platinum Hits cases. Idiots at Microsoft need to just change the topsite banner and quit fucking with the art below it. Especially on the spine.

Great games, but they sold about as well as a bag of ebola. Expect to see a third one on the first tuesday of never.

The first Maximo wasn't hard. All you had to do was use the first area to farm for extra lives. Then go progress as far as you could and go back and do a few runs when you needed more. I never beat the game but I got almost to the end without spending a single Death Coin.

I'd be in for XBL co-op and a little less emphasis on escort missions. Assuming this is in the works, it'll be interesting to see who gets it more "right" -- Left for Dead or DR2.
