[Poll] Favorite Mega Man Series?

My favorite would be Mega Man X, with Mega Man coming in a close second.

Megaman X but I haven't gotten to play some of the other series though like Legends. I also really like the battle network, might just be me and my RPG love, but I think it is very fun. I really have to say I love everything Megaman :wink:

X easily, while battle network is just a rehash of old mega man villians. While i love X would it have killed them to translate X5 and X6, i got no friggin idea what kind of animals these are supposed to be!!!!!

I have to go with the original. Don't get me wrong, I like the X series. In fact, I like pretty much every series (I've never played Battle Network, because it didn't seem like my kind of game). Maybe I'm just old, but there's just something great about the pure and simple gameplay of the original Mega Man series. It didn't need the slightly deeper story lines of the X series. Mega Man vs. Dr. Wily was all we needed to know.

Of course, I certainly wouldn't complain if Capcom were to release a Mega Man X compilation, so I could finally own X2 and X3. That's the saddest thing about my game collection, that I missed out on those two games. :(

Also, to jmcc, Tron Bonne rules! :) Her solo game is such an overlooked classic.

Heh, I can still remember all the bosses from the first X and what they looked like but i couldn't tell ya what the hell the bosses from x6 are with a translator.

I vote for Old Mega-Man. I wouldn't go that far to say X is the worst, but it did go downhill after X4. The old Mega Man never strayed from what made Mega-Man great.

As old school as this forum tends to be, I find it amazing that Mega Man isn't trouncing all the competition. Of course I don't see how Battle Network has any votes at all, but thats just me.

X4 is single handedly the best Rockman game ever made. Yes!

Out of all the Mega Man games ever made, Mega Man X is my favorite. However, just because the SNES X games were fucking fantastic doesn't mean that it's the best series... the X series started going downhill when it got to the Playstation.. X4 was good, X5 was just kind of stupid, I haven't played X6 and X7 is just kind of a disappointment (although it is fun to play). Here's hoping X8 fixes things, although with the way Capcom's games have been lately (Resident Evil Outbreak, Monster Hunter, and the entertaining-but-somewhat-disappointing Maximo vs. Army of Zin and Mega Man X7) I'm worried that it's going to be shitty.

Battle Network is really good though, they've been keeping those games nice and entertaining.

Legends, to me, is absolute shit.

So the classic series gets my vote, just because all of the classic games I have played are neither stupid or boring. Plus, you can't deny the old school NES Mega Man sprite it's coolness.

Oh.. and Zero is the best GBA MM series ever.
