So one of the pawnshops in my area frequently has DS Lites for sale for like $79 with all the parts. Is it usually a bad idea to buy these things from pawn shops?

i bought my black ds at a pawnshop for $80 too.. youre lucky yours comes with everything, mine just the core system itself no chargers or even the gba cover. not even a stylus. but who cares it was in a fairly good condition, and reasonable.
you need to bring a gba game or a nds game before you buy it. you need to see if it works. thats what i did.

All I can say is make sure that it is in good condition. I have bought a few game consoles from pawn shops before (PS, Sega CD, Dreamcast) and I really had no problems at all.

I think he is asking in case it was stolen. I think its ok but remember to keep the receipt in case it does turns bad.
and 80$ for a DS lite is nice. I think that is about the trade in value for it at GS with the 20$ coupon( if it is still good).
