Not bad, too bad there aren't any in my area. Cheapest I've seen a Wii for, previous record was $230 at a pawn shop. If it were available I'd pick it up for that, if for no other reason than so I can play my Gamecube games in progressive scan (I'd rather get a new system and a $6 component cable than have to spend $60+ on a Gamecube component cable).

On a related note, my local Shopko had about 6 Wiis today, and I also saw Wiis at Gamestop and Bestbuy on tuesday.

i still remember people saying the Wii was going to be FREE if you got 5 games at the same time.

I wonder how many people would be willing to pay 80 per game if the system was free

free system when you buy 4 games nintendo would make 120 for the system but in the long run they would make more cash

BUT then again tons of people wait for price drops on games before buying LOL

I've never seen video games at Marshall's. I've seen them at TJ Max and Ross, but usually very crappy kids games. I've never seen systems though. I got my Wii for $199 at a local used cd store. There was no box, but the system was like new and I've been enjoying it ever since.

$199, the price I think it should've been from the start.

Exactly. The only reason why it is $250 is because, they could sell it for that much because of the Xbox 360 and PS3 cost so much, and because of Wii Sports. Doesn't the Wii in Japan cost like $210 without the "game"?

The Wii sells for 25,000 Yen in Japan, the same price as the previous 3 Nintendo consoles did. In America, the Wii is $250, compared to the $200 the previous 3 Nintendo consoles were in that territory. So yes, there was essentially a $50 price hike on the system from including Wii Sports (which currently sells for $10 used at Gamestop).

Isn't Marshalls a 'reject' store, full of (mostly clothes that have) stuff that is wrong with them?

I would say at least 90-95% of the clothes at Marshalls are in fine condition. Often the clothes sold at Marshalls are either
A) Overstocked clothes somewhere else that the other store had to get rid of
B) Sizes that didn't sell well originally
C) Reasons unknown

Very rarely are they sold there because they're in bad condition.

Our marshalls has crappy clothes, depending on what your looking for, most of the womens clothes are like.. really bad, sweaters have holes, jeans have defects, if your buying something there you have to inspect the item before buying it carefully. They also charge around 30$ for jeans now and they are no name brand, or at least something I have never heard of, I can get jeans that don't smell like dye for much less at other stores. If you want mens skateboarding shirts and stuff like that its a good place to go because those are like 7-10$ vs 20-30 in a store like Pac Sun or Zumiez. They are good for shoes though, lots of mens sneakers for 20-25$ a pair, never found a pair of shoes with a defect. Womens shoes are usually more pricey (like 30-50$) because they carry brand names, which I do not need.

Sucks we don't have a Marshalls near here because $200 would be very tempting! Several games either approaching or already out that i'd like to play... I have never been so tempted to buy one until today when I FINALLY saw my first Wii in the wild, Best Buy had 4 of them on the shelf. I resisted the urge since Halo is monday night and I just bought Tiger 08. :D

I've never understood that argument. Does 1080p support make Marvel: Ultimate Alliance exclusive to the PS3? Does online play make Virtua Fighter 5 exclusive to the Xbox 360? I really don't see how having a single feature in a game makes it count as an entirely new game. I can't say I've ever played any game that has a new feature, whether it be graphic, content, or controls, and felt it was worthwhile to buy at full price again just to enjoy that feature. I doubt anyone that's played The Godfather on PS2 or Xbox 360 is going to care to pay $50 just to play it with new controls (especially since it's a downgrade from the Xbox 360 version in some ways).

Especially since I prefered using the Gamecube controller for TP anyway. The only "exclusive" feature from the Wii version that I missed much was the widescreen support.

Anyway, this is getting off topic.

CocheseUGA
09-21-2007, 09:44 PM
I'd say all the hand-to-hand kills are different, and you get precise aiming. That, to me, is significant.

If the controls in the Wii version of RE4 are 'revolutionary,' I'd say the same thing applies to the Godfather.

And, it's $30 now.

$hady
09-21-2007, 09:58 PM
RE4 is a must buy game and kinda an exclusive since the new control style will change the whole feel of the game. I put easily 20+ hours into it on the Gamecube and the day I buy a Wii i'll also buy RE4 again. Plus it's got all the PS2 exclusives that people who only played the Cube version missed out on. If they can revamp one of the best games ever to make it even better why would you not want to play it? :D

The value of the dollar has decreased a lot since the GC and previous consoles came out. So while they may be getting more money for it, their profit is probably similar. That's really not relevant though, just thought I would point it out.

The reason that Marshalls has them for $200 is that they usually discount products that aren't doing too well, so the Wii's must have been there for a good long time (though, not as long as some stores). If you wait another month or so, I'm sure if they are still there it will be cheaper. Like really, who would ever think to go to Marshalls to pick up a Wii (or even look for a Wii for that matter)? It really isn't on my list of electronic stores to check.

I was able to get in on this deal. when it happened last week.... was very very lucky.. is actually why i'm back in the CAG forums.. to find me some good game deals...

it's kinda cool to think i got the wii the same week the TRU b2g1 deal is happening..

There is no sign of refurbished anywhere.. everything inside looks brand new never touched and sleek..

The box the wii came looks new, shiney, and undamaged.. it's so new, the edges of the box feel ike they can give you a paper cut if you let it slide fast enough on your skin.. yea.. i know it sounds retarded/lame.. but that was my first reaction when i held the box..

Why, I'm certain proper disclosure takes place*. TJ Maxx and Marshalls have been in this business for some time. I'll trust their legal department is doing its job. ;-)

Working 3 years at a stupid luquidation store I can say that it is illegal for the product not mention on the bos it is a refurb or atleast you have been informed. On that topic I have never gotten a modern up to date gaming system while working there not even refurbished(we get 40-50" tv's BRAND NEW) this could mean that the product we got was either a old model a new one was released, overstocks and other reasons stores cant accept them, refurb, store closeouts, bankruptcies that is all the reasons I cant think off. I am sure that the wii's this Marshall store got are either Store Closeouts and/or bankruptcies that happend to a store they were located in. I remember getting smallville season 3-5 at a groccery store for 19.99 a piece, some dvd's were all sratched or either fallen out of it's slot.
