View Full Version : Nevermind, store specific event - Gamestop B2G1 free used possibly coming 9/23??

I just heard a radio commercial on my local station that *might* be indicative of a B2G1 free used sale starting Sunday.
KDGE, a D/FW radio station will be at the Gamestop in Dallas on Hillcrest near Southern Methodist University this Sunday, 9/23. According to the commercial, they will be doing a buy two used games, get one free deal there. Obviously, its completely possible that they are just doing that at the one store, but it could be indicative of an actual national sale.
Anyway, I guess we'll find out in a couple of days. I might head down to my local GS and snag a few games ahead of time just in case. Then do the return/rebuy on Sunday if its really happening.

would be great if true. any GS employees confirm a national sale? I like picking up cheap umds during the sale. Ecspecially after the TRU deal.

Is there a chance that its a new store? One of the new stores that opened up in Austin did one a while back for a like a week. Strange that Gamestop would buy radio advertising for a national sale and only mention one store.
I called the store. They have been open for 2 weeks and this is a promotion only at this store as a grand opening. The sale is already going on so if you are interested, get there now....

Actually, you might be right... I think it is a new store. I honestly don't know though. I'm definitely not ruling out the fact that it could be a store-specific thing but I just wanted to post to see if anybody else had any input. I don't think it was a case of Gamestop buying radio ad time, it was just one of the local DJs saying "hey we're gonna be at Gamestop, blah blah".
I'm not getting my hopes up, but it has been a while since the last B2G1 sale and they've probably taken in plenty of used titles lately with the trade-in promos they've had going on. But, we'll see.

edit: sorry to thread crap i know its against the tos my bad. when my local store opened they also did a buy 2 get 1 free woohoo go score some collectors edition of 360 games

Call the store? What a novel idea.... sorry I was too lazy to call them. They're a bit of a drive from me so I knew I wouldn't be going that way anyway; was just hoping it might be a hint at a national promo. Guess I was most likely wrong. Thanks for calling them and getting the info though.
Now we can just go back to waiting for a legit national sale.

If it's a new store, what are the odds of finding good used games? It seems they would have mostly tons of used crap from other stores.
