If you pre-order Halo 3 (any version) from CompUSA, you get
- FREE Xbox 360 Live Gold Card
- FREE Canon Pixma iP1800 Printer (after mail-in rebate)

Gold card offer expires 9/24/07

For some reason the link doesn't work from here.
Just search for "Halo 3" at compUSA.com

Thanks for pointing that out. I am sure as hell it was working when I posted!
Has provided a more generic link now that includes other Halo stuff

Edit: - Even the new link didn't work after I edited & reposted. Maybe you just search for Halo 3 at the website

I understand the Gold card, but a freakin' printer? My my, CompUSA does not get "it". No wonder why half of the store chain closed down due to crap like this.

That has got to be the weirdest video game purchase bonus ever.

My guess is the marketing team thought something like this:
1) I wish more people bought video games from us
2) Hey, Halo's coming out
3) If we get gamers to buy Halo, maybe they'll come back?
4) Who plays Halo?
5) College students!
6) What do college students moving back into their dorms need?
7) Printers!
8) What do we have a ton of extra stock in?
9) Printers!

And thus the worst promotional tie-in in major video game launch history is born.
