The only activity that has infuriated me, thus far, is Insurance Fraud.

Do the insurance fraud stuff by yourself as it is much harder in co-op and try to find a hot spot that is on a freeway so you can keep hitting the same semi truck in adrenaline mode. My best combo is $110,000 using that method. Also search on Youtube as there is a car surfing method where you block all the traffic and just slide around the cars.

I've only finished off the Fight Club and Celebrity Security activities. It was retarded amounts of fun throwing angry fans off of a hotel balcony. It is really too easy to earn respect in this game if you ask me. If you complete one set of challenges you could go through an entire storyline without stopping. I'm already something around x34 respect, so I could technically finish out the entire story mode without touching another challenge.

You can do the "Spikes" with almost any car. In a car customization shop buy the option " Knee Cappers".

I had a HOLY SHIT moment the other day when i was doing the activity where you blow shit up. I was blowing cars up and i hit the am train and it fell off the track and almost on my head. I was like DAAAAAMN!!!!

So i beat the game, and it was an okay game. The story is nothing compared to GTA IV. But it did have its moments. Brotherhood is the best story i would say. Then probably the Ronin.

co-op achievements are bugged (but not unobtainable). some missions dont register when you replay them in co-op mode. infuriating, i dont want to start all over just for them.

I saved an outfit (a suit/tie combo) with custom hair. I switched to another outfit. When I switched back to the suit/tie combo suit, the haircut was shaved and remained that way. When I went back to customization and tried to choose a hat then hit B to cancel, the custom hair would pop back up.

Yea that happens with me when I try on Hats. I put the hat on and dislike it so I go back to none and my guy will be weirdly bald like a monk until I hit B and cancel out and leave the store.

Played Saints Row 2 a bit this weekend. I'm enjoying it so far, the challange where you spray crap on things from the septic trunk was good times.

I find this a lot more fun to play then GTA4, doesn't look quite as good, but I tihnk I prefer it overall.

Mayhem is the easiest activity in the game outside of the Demo Derby.

Fight Club is the easiest, IMHO. I managed to clear it in about 20-30 minutes, dying only once.

I thought Fuzz was the easiest so far outside of Demo Derby. The Paramedic diversion is also easy and funny you get shock paddles, and if you kill someone you can bring them back to life with the paddles.

I wish I didn't do some of the diversions so quickly since you get some powerful rewards that make the missions even easier.

Can you get the co-op achievements by going back through missions using the newspaper in the safehouses? Or do you have to start over fresh?

Co-op seems really broken as far as getting achievements. I played through all the Ronin missions last night with a friend with about an hour break in there when we each logged off and even though we both got the single player achievement for passing the Ronin stuff when we look at the newspaper clippings in the crib I am missing some co-op check marks for 2 missions and he is missing them for a few different missions then the one I do not have checked. When we tried to replay the missions from the newspaper clip no matter if I am hosting or if he is hosting, I still do not get the co-op check to appear for my 2 missing missions and he was not able to get his to get checked off either.

It gets really annoying playing a mission over and over again 4 or more times in every conceivable way to try to get the co-op check mark and still not get it. If you look at the official Saints Row forum, you will see that this seems to be a common issue and no one has found a solution yet.

I just got done playing for 4-5 hours in co-op and its really fun. But sometimes the screen goes black and i had to reset my system, or quit and rejoin.

One thing i saw that was weird is i got a different cut scene during an important mission. It was the part where you go to the funeral and that japanese guys son shows up, you end up chasing him on a bike. I forget how it went when i played. But tonight in the co-op they showed him leave on his bike, like normal. But the screen went black and then all of a sudden there was a video of gat and the main character burring him alive. I really dont remember that at all.

Yep, a friend and I did some Co-op and that happened to me. We both did the Samedi missions and both got the co-op achievements (neither of us had done those at that point...but I had already done Ronin and Brotherhood on SP), but when we went to get him the Ronin missions, it gave him the co-op achievement but not on mine. Oh well, still fun, but I hate when companies ship glitchy-as-hell games like this out. Seems I can't go more than fifteen minutes without raising an eyebrow at something screwing up.

Its actually a good length...if you don't do the activities first then its short. I remember the last one had secret guns if you do the activities, so I did those and it helped. The hideout gets better. Later down the line you will get an elevator that you can take down, as for the inside, it is confusing

So far I've completed the Brotherhood storyline and three sets of activities and I'm 38% complete. I have something like 17 hours playtime, granted I have spent a good amount of time in the various clothing stores and just changing my character in general, along with the obvious sandbox dicking around. So I'd say at my current pace it would take me around 60 hours to 100% complete it.

I managed to 100% complete the first Saint's Row, and I can definitely see myself doing this one up too.

I'm 89% with 35 hours. I have done all the activities and missions. I don't see myself getting 100%. Finding all the tags, cd's, and jumps will be a pain just like it was in SR1.

I suppose I will share my tricks.

I hate insurance fraud. In both of the activities im on level 6. But its annoying when you are standing around and no cars are coming for you to get hit. Or when you press LT+RT to fall in front only for it not to count and you get hit and bounce around scoring no money.

As a car approaches you, jump and hit the LT+RT right when you predict the car will clip your knees. This will send you up high. Play ping pong between the cars. If you manage to hit five or six, it usually gets $80,000+. I hit the $600,000 mark in two minutes doing this technique.

Last but not least, im having trouble with Crowd Control. In the levels 5 and 6 there are just too many people to throw.

Use the baseball bat and just keep swingin'. That's it. No need to throw. Granted, you only get $250 for each person you hit, but if you hit them fast enough, you should finish with more than required and just a smidge of time to spare.

this sounds cool. i got SR1 a while ago from CC for $10 new and am currently enjoying it. this may be worth picking up a bit later. i did have my fun with GTIV, but it has been boring. I enjoyed gta san andreas and don't like rockstar taking themselves seriously.

Like Scorch said, just grab the first bat someone drops and start hitting people. I only did the throws for extra money in the early levels when it was just one or two at a time. Also, I loved the ones on the top of the hotel because you could throw people off the roof. This lead to my new favorite pastime, which is sticking a satchel charge to people, throwing them into traffic and detonating.

Yeah i got past the crowd control using bats. Pretty easy. Before i was trying to throw them all. I didnt realize i even picked up a bat till i read to use them in this thread. Still having problems with the drug trafficking on the top island. Level 6 is a bitch. Trying it in co-op is even worse.

How are the races in this game...are they many laps, or a drag race? Are they hard? I hate races in games like these. GTA IV races were so simple though.

Im up to 83% of the game complete. Co-op is still really fun.

I saw a security guard grab a fan and throw them into the helicopter blades and they went poof, so from then on, I kept doing the same thing.

The satchel charges thing is fun, but you could also do that in San Andreas. It wasn't nearly as much fun, though.

I saw a civilian rob a bar the other day, first time I've seen a civilian do that. The game told me that I can "hold up" civilians by placing the gun over them, the same way you rob stores. This worked two or three times, but I've tried to do it since then, and nothing happens. Lame.

Yeah, I've switched between playing as a girl and guy a couple of times thus far, and I think I'm sticking with playing as a girl. It is pretty non gender specific, but a few times I've had people say something to the effect of "aren't you the guy who got blown up?" when I was a girl. I'm personally trying not to think that my female character used to be a dude.

You know how hard that is? I hate trying to drive and shoot at the same time. Even with cruise control, shooting behind you and trying to drive and see whats in front of you is impossible. Co-op makes it even harder.

Do races count towards 100%? I just did a couple and noticed that the map doesnt say if you beat them or not. That is really lame considering all the other activities will say if you completed them.

Keep using Nitrous in the derby. Before I discovered that, I couldn't get past the first one either. After I figured it out, I breezed through all six levels.

Your character kind of looks like Tyson Tomko from TNA Wrestling.

I made my guy look like me, the same as I did in the first game, and I have had a few co-op people say he looks plain. The way your character looks in your game is the way others will see him in co-op. The only thing I have noticed that does not always carry over is custom paint jobs on vehicles.

Looks like suicide jumpers are back.

one is in the grave yard, there is an open grave and a guy whos parachute fails to open falls right into the grave. LOL I went there and heard the scream and splat, but didnt get to see it. Also check the tombs you can walk in for a surprise.

Another one is by the Plastic surgeon in Saints Row district. He jumps from a building.

Ive also read people see them jumping into the lake.

I also checked out this "Stillwater Triangle" which is in the water north west of the jail. Found something interesting. ;)

Hahaha, checked the tomb labeled "Hawk" and found the surprise. Thats hilarious, especially when it says you have explored the Blank at the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

Anyone have a list of all the secret areas? I cant find the robot house. The best directions i got was its "over the pond and west of the university loft" which really doesnt make sense.

I just got 100%, took me 69 hours and 6 minutes.

Im wondering if this game goes beyond 100% though. I havent done all races, barnstorming, hidden locations, stunt jumps, blue collar jobs .... etc. Well lets just say i got 100% by doing all missons, strongholds, activities, tags, and cds. There are a lot of diversions i havent completed yet.

Id like to know too. Ive done ambulance and taxi which were both pretty easy. Fire truck though is pretty hard. I get to level 3 or 4 and then lose. Then you have to start all over again from level 1.

The tow truck diversion is by far the hardest. The other three are a cakewalk compared to it. I suggest having a co-op partner during it.

Having a Co-Op partner to do Activities is so much nicer. I mean My Best Bud and I Played A LOT of activities last night from about 11 to 6 in the morning. We were just having a blast doing them together truthfully. I think we need Insurance fraud, Escort and Snatch left. Then the diversions. But it's a blast Co-Op. Still need to do the story as well! :D

Go to the police station south of the first saints row church hideout, and go into room 303. You should be able to figure the rest out. ;)

I was just doing tow truck. I was thinking this isnt so bad. I made it to level 6, was on my second bike and about 4 seconds away from the marker when a civilian turned his car into mine and i blew up. So thats when i found out that when i went to finish it, i had to start from level 1 again. DAMN!! This really sucks. This and fire truck are hard. Taxi and Ambulance were not really a challenge at all.

This is the last mission. You have to go to the ultor building, shoot the security things, and then go to the top of the building, which you will get a cut scene and then continue with the mission on foot.

Haha, well I was on the 9th part of the tow truck. Its not bad, get in, get the brotherhood tuck, get out. So I pull up(by the way my truck has white smoke coming out of the top) hop out and get ready to fire. Well instead of pulling out the rifle to spray bullets into them, the stupid wheel of guns lands me on an RPG that I fire into my tow truck


Its like the world does not want me to finish that mission. Well now I did he skydive diversion and haveno damage from falling from any height, including from diving from cars. I also decided to do the car surfing one and snagged an achievement and item of clothing

I want that, so i tried base jumping and the option only comes up half the time. What the hell do i have to do? I open my chute, then sometimes it says press Y to start the diversion. Well it only comes up like 25% of the time. I was trying it at the air port since i could find more airplanes/helicopters to get back into the air once the first one falls and blows up. I did happen to get 1 silver star. Do i have to land bullseye to get the reward?

I decided to give base jumping another try. It says land in the circle and i do and nothing happens. I dont get a score, no text, nothing. Then i try again, the "press Y to start diversion" text appears, so i press Y and my guy cuts off his shoot and i die. Did they really have to use the same button for starting the diversion as cutting/opening the chute? Seriously there are 13 other buttons they could have used.

Wow this sucks...i cant get any more star ratings once you beat story. I killed a pimps vehicle and my gang vehicles destroyed stayed at 14. Same with slice and dice kills, and head shots. I even tried to replay a mission and get more ratings that way and it dont work. Gee, i hope none of those actually unlock anything.

Alright i just got the base jumping reward....finally. I got it while doing it around the saints hideout.

As a car approaches you, jump and hit the LT+RT right when you predict the car will clip your knees. This will send you up high. Play ping pong between the cars. If you manage to hit five or six, it usually gets $80,000+. I hit the $600,000 mark in two minutes doing this technique...
Truth. Get onto the freeway and jump in front of anything fast moving. Play ping pong for a bit and you'll be well over your target score when you finally come to a stop. :bouncy:

...I saw a civilian rob a bar the other day, first time I've seen a civilian do that. The game told me that I can "hold up" civilians by placing the gun over them, the same way you rob stores. This worked two or three times, but I've tried to do it since then, and nothing happens. Lame.
I saw a lady rob my mechanic while I was customizing my car...

From what I've seen, mugging people is hit or miss. Some people cough up the cash right away, others take a while, and others not at all...

If you put some crazy hours into it and play it with another person, yeah. I think doing all the story missions and activities took like 35 hours.

Yeah there is an exit on the 4th floor....the exit leads to a parking garage which leads you up to outside. Or you can go to a car shop and buy one. :)

There is Poseidon palace in the hotel and marina district i think on the top island. Also on the left of that same island near the top left is another building you go into and there are some machines in the basement....you should know about it since it is involved in a mission.

Inside the Casino you do the mission with Johnny Gat earlier in the game against the Ronin is where I went but you can only play Video Poker or Blackjack. You will have to walk up to the machine.

Fun game but two things I didn't like compared to the original:

1. Online multiplayer is weak -- the original game modes were a lot more fun

2. What happened to the graphics? Or I should say colors...everything is washed out. Guess it makes it "grittier" but it's not appealing to look at. The original had all kinds of primary colors and I guess they wanted it more "realistic" or whatever.

Overall, fun...but not up to the original.

So is it just me or does the style in this game work differently than in SR1? In SR1, if I had, say, a 60 style hat, and went to purchase a 10 style hat, it would say I would get -50 style. It doesn't do that in this game, though, so how do I know if I'll gain or lose style when buying clothes if I can't remember the style rating of the article I'm wearing?

Yeah you can change it later on in the plastic surgeon's. Nothing else as far as voices though.

Yeah, you start back at the last level you completed. I haven't played the game in awhile but I think most all the activities have around three locations. Just look around the map. As far as time goes, they get progressively harder, so I don't know.

Yeah, you can go back and start at 3.

Level 6 is the highest an activity goes, and at most there are 2 locations for each activity. Yes, it will take a while to complete every activity.

The cemetery is another good place. Throw someone onto the front-loader and they'll get launched into the air.

This game is a great break from Fallout, I put it in the other night and lost an hour and a half just fucking around killing people.

There was one time when I had a one star wanted level and this cop came up to attack me. As the cop was beating on me, some pimps came up and started beating on the cop. As this was going on there were more and more pimps that gathered around the two or three beating on the cop and cheering them on. After a while the cop ended up bloody on the sidewalk and all these pimps were just standing around like it was a pimp convention ... I laughed my ass off, then killed them.

With a lot of stuff on the screen, it does happen. It's happens mostly to me when I am doing the Trail Blazing activity, with all the explosions happening.


About 70% done with getting everything/beating all the activities/etc. Enjoying online, still haven't tried Co-Op, though.

Someone joinned my game and was using cheats. So now everytime I save it say "cheats enabled". I can't get achievements like that. Is there a way to disenable the cheats?

Is there anything special you need to do to get the final Ultor mission(s) to appear on the map? I just finished "Salting the Earth...Again", the one where you kill the Ultor execs out on the yacht, and the head Ultor guy is watching it all out the window, and he tells his secretary that he's about to get promoted. After that, I don't see any more mission icons on my map, anywhere. I even checked a walkthrough on GameFAQs. There's another mission or two listed, but nothing about where to find them or how to trigger them.

I haven't used any cheats at all, and I haven't played co-op with anyone. Is this some kind of glitch? Am I screwed?

Supposedly the patch has been sent to Microsoft and is just awaiting approval. That is not saying that will fix your problem as I have not finished the Ultor stuff yet on my game but it is supposed to fix the co-op achievement glitches and the freezing. I looked at your Achievements and it looks like you are missing the Vengeance one, maybe try that mission and see if it triggers anything.

You have to go to the Police Station and it's in one of the rooms. You'll see areas where you can listen to some tapes that will help wrap up the story. Troy's office is connected to the room and is where you get the mission.

As for the Ultor Missions, did you do the one in the Mall?

The Ultor stronghold didn't appear on my map until I set the map to show only strongholds. It didn't show up on the default "show everything" setting.

It had to be co-op. The problem with people joining your co-op games with cheats enabled and not being able to kick them without it screwing up your gamesave was a really stupid mistake. Your only option after you kick them is to reload your save. I also keep multiple saves, saving in a new spot after each mission just to be safe in case I run into this or any other game problems.

Thanks for the heads up. Someone tried joining me in a co-op game and I'm happy I didn't let them in now. I do have three saves though in case something goes wrong, but it's still a nuisance...

You really just need to look at your save screen after someone joins and make sure it does not say cheats enabled even when you boot them just to be safe. When the game first came out and I would hop into random co-op games, I was amazed by the number of people that either did not realize they had got cheats enabled at some point or the fact that they would only use 1 save game slot. When a game allows you 10-20 save slots, it really is dumb to use just 1 when so many things can happen.

That was probably because you had friendly fire disabled, by default it is disabled.

Wow I just got the game the other day and am really loving it. Currently my favorite thing to do it to throw people on the hood of cars as they drive by. I've been really distracted by messing around so I only have done like 3 story missions so far, yet I have played for over 6 hours.

Just finished this game a few weeks ago, and any motorcycle mission was the one gameplay weak spot.. but lucky they sometimes give you a chance to quickly pull out a rocket launcher and finish it before the chase even starts. Or occationally they'll loop around to the starting point atleast once during the mission, so you can stand around and get some easy shots in.

Love this game. I hope rockstar is paying attention and leaving the gaming Martin Scorsese asperations alone for GTA5.

Before I bought this game I was kinda worried because every GTA clone I played of last gen sucked, so after getting pissed at GTA IV (come on, they literally took out the ability to do anything cool), I decided to try this and all I have to say is wow.

Not only did they get the feel of classic GTA III-SA mayham, they ramped it up a notch here and there. I love everything about this game, it is just so fun to play and since I was a big GTA fan before they went boring, this gives me my fix :D. Even a shitty PC port isn't letting me down.

I think my only complaint with this game so far is you can't chop off heads like in GTA SA, but thats very small. Fan fucking tastic.

Also I am loving the soundtrack, any soundtrack that has both The Final Countdown AND Opeth is pure win (although I only listen to the 80's and metal ones).

I joined a friends co-op game who still was fighting the gangs and completed the taunt achievement that way since there are not as many pimps around so it takes a while to get 50.

Go out and recruit 3 of your own gang members, dismiss them, and then continuously taunt them (let your taunts finish before taunting again). The achievement should unlock for you after a minute or so (I had the same problem, and doing this worked).

I was at 61% I believe. And if that's your 3rd gang, your close to the end.

I just beat the game. Last mission was kinda hectic with the helicopter and all that. Screw the sidequests/achievements. I'm not going to go after them. It's going to take too much time. I really liked the game. I thought it was great. I got about 20 hours in so I'm happy with it.

This game is way better than I expected. I'm even having fun doing the side junk like streaking, hitman, chop shop, etc. Saints Row is also a good game, but they definitely improved on it with the sequel.

The achievements suck, but I'm trying not to let that affect me. :lol:
