I just got my La Fonera in the Mail today, and I tried connecting it to my DS. The Public, nor Private works? What's up with that? Anyone have success with it?

Might want to post this in the DS forum.

Nope, it definitely doesn't work with the DS. I hope you didn't drop $40 bones on it from the Fon site. I got mine for free long ago. Though it does work perfectly with the Wii!

Unless I'm mistaken the DS doesn't support 802.11g, only 802.11b and only WEP encryption. Did you make sure that 802.11b and WEP were enabled?

If that doesn't work you might want to try to install DD-WRT (http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/index.php) and see if that works. EDIT: Actually I don't think DD-WRT works with LaFonera+ (the newer version). So you might not want to try that.

to flash it with DD-WRT, i would have to follow this guide.

But since i have the new R5 version that came out this month, the Kolofonium hack didn't work. This guy said he found a way.

Does anyone know if this works?

yep... this is why i avoid nintendo like the plague and stick with $ony portables. you know your company is not reputable when high profile games come broken right out of the package.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic ('$ony') or if you're just a troll.:-k

which games are you talking about(you're not speaking about halo 3, right?) Your post says something bad about EVERY console manufacter, For sony, you say they take your money, for nintendo, you basically say they suck, and for microsoft, you say that they are not reliable.

Connect your computer to the La Fonera via the LAN ethernet jack.
Open a web browser.
Enter the address 192.168.1.1.
Username should be root; password should be admin.

the port is a wan port. It won't accept computer connections.

What version do you have?

The FON SHOP shows the la fonera+ as having a WAN and a LAN port on the back.

How did you update the firmware without a wireless card?

The La Fonera is a mystery to me.

EDIT: You have a Wii. Can't you use that to access the configuration page?

yeah, i used the wii to do some basic config(like disable ssid) for the router(it seems dd-wrt is really advanced, even for me), but i'll have to wait next week when i get an actual computer installed with a wireless card(i needed it anyway) to config it.
