Here's a thick slice of speculative pie, coming from 1UP's own rumor mill. With the surprisingly positive reactions Sony has received from reviving the classic PS One Warhawk, it's not too far off the beaten path to assume Sony would consider bringing back other classic franchises for a PS3 reimagining.

The game in question for a revival is rumored to be JetMoto. Since the original is up on the PS Store for purchase, we think there may be slight credibility to this rumor. What do you guys think? Is it possible more games from Sony's past will reappear on PS3 as some kind of fan-service, or is Warhawk going to be it for the classics?

one my fav games, I'd love to have jet moto 1 redone like how wipeout is being redone for PSN.

I never understood why JetMoto died so fast. I remember it as being one of the main original draws of PS1 along with Twisted Metal which I think someone posted rumors months ago about a revival for PS3.

I used to play the hell out of JetMoto 1 and 2. Why did this series die?

Oh hell yeah. I remember going over to my friend's house and playing that. Totally forgot about that game, it was awesome. Didn't know it was up on the PS Store either. Might have to buy that gem.

I used to play the hell out of JetMoto 1 and 2. Why did this series die?Part of it had to do with Jet Moto 3 not turning out too good. The problem is that SingleTrac (makers of Jet Moto) was bought out by GT Interactive, so Sony had to give development to someone else. Since GT Interactive was gone, members of SingleTrac formed Incognito, and started making games for Sony again. I think it was a project they thought about, but never did it (worked on TM Black, War of the Monsters, and Downhill Domination instead).

I would love to see a new Jet Moto use the Motostorm Engine. I played 3 and I liked it.. it had some good parts to it. I think the tracks from party 1 and 2 were better than 3, however, JM3 did have that stunt mode that I thought was a good. But any remake on the series would make me happy.

Yeah...actually Singletrac was my first gig in the game industry. We did Jet Moto and Jet Moto 2 (along with Twisted Metal 1 & 2, and WarHawk), but then the next one totally sucked. Not that there wasn't room for improvement on the others, but 3 was just terrible. I would love to play a new Jet Moto myself :)

PS. It is a little-known fact that the original pressing of Jet Moto 2 is much better than the Greatest Hits version. The original version allowed for twice as many competitors, but ran at ~20Hz. The GH version allowed for fewer competitors but ran at ~30Hz. Unfortunately, the game was totally tuned for the 20Hz, so the GH version is pretty much broken in my opinion. (I didn't actually work on JM2 directly, as I was programming/tuning Critical Depth, but I was lead tester and tuner on Jet Moto 1)

They also did WarHawk and Calling All Cars :)

Jet Moto is the only futuristic racer that I enjoyed more than F-Zero. [or as much as F-zero

Wasn't Jet X2O supposed to be a spiritual successor to the series? I never did play that.

It's not a whole lot like Jet Moto. First off, it is only in water. Second, the craft feels about 5 times heavier. No turboing up a glacier and flying over the curvy parts to gain 7 seconds.

Jet Moto one and two were great. My friends and I used to play each other all the time. Hopefully they'll bring this back like they brought Twisted Metal back.

I still have Jet Moto for PS1. Some of the snow levels were IMPOSSIBLE.
