Since there were a couple games released the last week or so of some consequence, I'll include those before going into the October list.

9 - FIFA 08- Some interest in this, but not on Wii. Graphics are important in sports sims

23 - Zack & Wiki- on my radar as it's getting a lot of good buzz, but not a fan of point and click adventures. Will probably rent if it gets decent reviews from EGM/1up and Gamespot

28 - Guitar Hero III- Buying on the PS2 since I already have 2 controllers and the first two games on it

Might get Dragon Blade and Dewy later on used when they're cheap. Depends on reviews. Will likely get Battallion Wars and Zack & Wiki a good bit sooner.

I'm new to the Wii - I swore I wasn't getting one, but Metroid combined with some extra cash due to losing a money-sucking wife convinced me. ;)

I do have a decent backlog now tho - after Metroid, I still have Zelda, RE4:Wii Ed. and Super Paper Mario waiting on me. I have managed to put down some preorders on some upcoming games, but only one in the Sept.-Oct. timeframe:

Paid it off today. I'm interested in Manhut 2 and Battalion Wars 2, but not enough to pick either up at release.

Good policy. I started doing that this generation as well, and have stuck to it for the most part. Only 1 console game and 1 DS game at a time.

I hate having a huge backlog. End up either rushing through games or not finishing some games, and I end up buying games that are not AAA quality.

Much better to be more selective, just buy AAA games that I'm pretty sure I'll love, take my time and enjoy them, and then move on to the next AAA game on my list.

Plus no more getting annoyed trying to play games I don't like much that I bought just because they got ok reviews and I found it cheap.

I have a multi-console arcade stick from last gen, so it works on the GC ports on the Wii, so I want to play/support the fighting games on the Wii, but if Accent Core is waggle only, I'm really skeptical. I'm hoping the Samurai Shodown compilation has all the titles in it for that reason too.

Also, I just got a 360 and Halo 3, so I feel I'll be busy with that as most of my friends play on Halo/Gears of War online only.

Too much of a backlog to do any frequent purchasing - being married has cut down on my game time significantly (with the exception of Metroid 3 Corruption - I got a pass on that one!), so I really need to keep my buying in check or too much collects dust for too long.
