Wii w/ Component cables and HDTV

I just got a 42" Samsung Plasma and want to hook my Wii up to it with Component cables. I have two questions.....

1) To anyone with a similar TV, is the difference in quality worth $20 to $35?
2) Which cables do you suggest? The Madcatz? Nintendo's official? Nyko? Monster (though i'm not spending that much even if they are the 2nd coming)?

Considering it's not an HD signal, I'd go with Nintendo's cables or the cheaper ones (Madcatz?). I have Nintendo's, and they do the job just fine on my 42-inch Sony XBR.

i found some cheap ones on ebay like 10 shipped you think they do the same as the 30 ones?

dude. when it comes to component cables for the wii. brand name makes no difference. nintendo's does just as much a job as monster's . i ended up buying some off brand set for like $4 bucks off of some site. it works fine.

Yeah, the monoprice are probably the cheapest.

I got a bum set, wavy lines on the screen, and they wanted me to pay return shipping so I just tossed them and bought the Nintendo ones locally.

But that's probably just bad luck on my part as I've bought several other cables from them (optical, HDMI etc.) and been very pleased with the low prices and quality of the cables.

The CS leaves a bit to be desired though, with not paying for shipping to exchange a defective item.

Honestly, I didn't buy from there, I bought from play-asia, they have a set for about $13 shipped. It's probably the same cable though.

Interesting, I ordered a toslink switch and I got one that was busted and they sent me a new one, no questions asked and I didn't have to return the old one.

Anyway, get yourself a set of monoprice Wii cables, I'm using a set on my 37" Samsung and the picture is definitely an improvement in 480p.
