According to IGN, Playlogic will be publishing Obscure II here in the states. No release date or pricing as of yet, but hopefully we'll get more information soon.

I know the first game was really somewhat mediocre story-wise (and short), but I still really enjoyed playing through it.

Agreed.

Considering the number of characters in this game and the subject matter, it would not be difficult to "equip" all of the characters with walkie talkies or headsets. I would love to see 2, 4, or even 8 player co-op.

Most it has is 2 players. According to IGN, it's also hitting the Wii too.

I hear this criticism all the time about the Outbreak games; don't you think the games would have been too easy if you can directly tell your teammates what to do? The enemy AI isn't hard to figure out, the puzzles in this series are easier than in the canon RE games, and do you really want to hear how obnoxious your teammates are in real life? It's a zombie apocalypse. You should only hear the dead.
