Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.


List

date = date posted or updated
cp = current price
opp = old posted price
(oos) = out of system

* = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)

Colors

white = current update
dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)

if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:

Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5490021#post5490021).
Print UPC-A (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3417464&postcount=41) barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com (http://UPCDatabase.com) or Barcodesinc.com (http://www.barcodesinc.com/generator/barcode/)to generate a UPC A barcode.

If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:

^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

the real reason why i kept the dark grey is because those are the old deals. instead of keeping them away from this thread, just combine everything together and just highlight the ones that are currently active and in stock.

i hate having to go through a list to try to find something, at least this way its easier to see quickly. if they have problems with it, i guess i could change the color. or better yet, move them down (thats why i took the first 2 replies) since that was originally my idea in the first place.

i listed all the prices based on peoples finds as they posted them on the other deals. its very true that some places are sold out of these games. but very few still has them. theres probably quite a few cags in your area.

SD and FW's philosophy is to maximize whatever they could get their hands on and turn it into cash as soon as possible. you can tell sometimes from people who are mainly just lurking to hoard all copies. ive seen them on ebay, they are stupid enough to leave the stickers on the games almost 80 to 90% of the time. and sells maybe 5 or more copies of them. this isnt something we can stop, but we can prevent it from happening. maybe creating a updated list was a bad idea.. i dunno..

UPC-A usually works on the scanners I have tried. They look like the ones on the boxes, so that is good enough for me :).

You're right, now that I think about it. It would be more trouble than it's worth. I think the issue is, as someone brought up in the Kmart Thread, The lists are probably the biggest issue, because that makes it a bit too easy to grab and repost elsewhere.

Went to Irving Mall (Tx) yesterday, they had 4-5 DOA4 non-PH for 360, but they were $16.97 (marked as $34, I believe).

Confirmed the new drops on the PSP accessories in Greenwood, IN. They only had one battery left (for $3, I couldn't pass it up), but there were still lots of AC adapters, car adapters, battery chargers, and accessory bags all for $2.97.

They also had Mario Tennis Advance for $4.97, as someone else reported for another store. Nothing else interesting on the clearance rack... just a bunch of poker games.

Depends on the store, but the games will ring up whatever price that store has them in the system. Regardless of their ticketed price.

Thanks for the list OP! The Sears near me had a rack in the aisle with the clearanced items. They weren't marked all the way down, but there was a sign saying to take an extra 75% off. The only thing they had that I was looking for was Mario Party 7. It rang up at 35.97, so I paid $9 + tax after the discount.

Well I found a ton of Mario Strikers for the cube at my sears. They were $7.97 though. I still bought 12 of them. 1 for me 11 for EBAY! No I kid, I bought one for me and one for my little bro.

I think I got confused when I saw True Swing Golf cause I thought it was only a few bucks but it didn't ring up. So he said he'd probably be able to sell it to me for $25. I passed.

Definitely don't believe those white stickers on video games at Sears. Most of the products at my store are labeled that way. The PSP accessories I got a few weeks ago rung up clearance price but were stickered full price.

Went to a Sears and a Sears Grand yesterday. Nothing spectacular - the non-Grand Sears had a copy of Rogue Galaxy, but I did not get it scanned because I was kinda in a rush. I was looking for a copy of DOA4 though (if anyone has one (non-PH) they are willing to part with for cash or perhaps another game, let me know), but the 360 selection at both locations is really crappy. I dropped by a few Sears stores in my area today. Both were pretty well picked over. And I encountered some higher prices than I expected (YMMV).

The first store, I managed to find 2 copies of FF IV Advance. The one was marked at 4.97 and the other at 21.97. When I rang them both up, they both rang at 21.97. I tried to talk the sales clerk into giving me the stickered price on the lower one but he wasn't buying it. So, I just left.

The second store, I found a Woody Faceplate for the 360 @ 3.97. Also found a Paper Mario for GC @ 9.97. I picked up both. I also had them check a Mario Baseball for the GC which rang up at 29.99. In the case, there were also a3 copies of Metal Gear Portable Ops, but by the time I realized it, the sales guy was gone and I didn't feel like tracking him down.

On another note, the second store also had a Pokemon bundle GC but it was marked at 89.97. Definately waiting on that one to come down!

you could call the other sears in your area to avoid wasting a trip and asking for a price for that particular game. if it rings up at the price you want it to, then you could go there and get it price adjust. if you couldn't find it for less than $10, then i suggest returning it in 20 days then rebuy it or something. unless you opened the game already, then all you could do price readjust.

hes asking for a price adjust, he already has the game. since all sears have a different price for each clearanced games, theres no telling whether its the price youre looking for. at this point the guy just wanted to readjust, and seems like to me the best option is to call instead of heading over there. saves you a trip. i would do the same except i would just rather wait since ive already gone to all the sears i usually go to.

I remember thinking it was odd that it dropped from the previous 39.97 (the first clearance price) to .99 pricing unless it's a universal price drop a la PS2 Tourist Trophy dropping from 39.97 to 19.99 when after it hit GH. Then again, 360 Call of Duty 2 is still 47.97 while it's universally 29.99 and at some places 19.99.

About price adjusting, at the Sears I asked, I was told that they did not price adjust a clearanced item. I can't remember if receipts have an indication of clearance on them. Of course, it could just be the manager who was asked. .

By the way, the reason I haven't repoted these in the past is cause I've been uninterested because of the high clearance price so I just looked over them, but just so you know Superman should be 10 & PSU 7 @ KMart, Pimp My Ride 15 @ TRU, XBLA 14 @ Target, but at least we know to look for future drops here. Oh and VT3 is worth it for 30 in my opinion cause you'll never find it for 17 @ CC and it's fun.

we ask them to open the case as well. only a few sears actually have them in the open. and most of them have the newer or more expensive games in a locked peg (the thing where they hang the games).

That's still marked 31.97 here. 2 Sears here have clearance bins which have actual clearance games and a bunch of frontlane stickered games and cheaper games, 19.99 to 29.99 MSRP stuff like greatest hits and the like. One actually pulls out an extra table for stuff that must be dredged up from the backroom because a Metal Gear Acid 2, a pair of Double Dash Gamecube bundles, a Mario Tennis (stickered 14.97 and I didn't realize it had been seen lower, should've had it checked :bomb: ), and a Gameboy player have appeared at different times with other stuff I never saw before they hit the table. There are some clearance games in the glass cases and the frontlane section at another store. The other 3 or 4 stores didn't have clearance areas at all when I was there and the games I had checked from the glass cases did not have clearance prices when scanned. In other words, it varies from store to store and the only way to find out for sure is to have them scan a game which is usually a big hassle at my stores.

well if they were not reported as clearance then they probably will ring up as full price. nobody has checked them since as far as i know the sears i went to had none of those games in stock. just have it price checked.

"old" means from the older list from the other threads. when i created the list i didnt want the newer clearance games to blend in with the older stuff. thats why i highlighted the recently posted ones (it makes it more easier to look at). you pretty much wont find any of them although some sears may still carry 1 or even 2 of them. if you find them, consider yourself lucky since they will ring up less than $5 most the time.

I posted this in the last thread but about a year ago I found a DS Charger official brand for $3.97. I tried to purchase it and it was out of the system and they refused to sell it to me. Today, I find it out on the shelf yet again (must have been in the back). I take it up to the register and of course it rings up out of the system. It had a pink sticker saying $3.97 MAY (that's MAY 2006!). He entered it as general merchandise and at $3.97. I wanted to ask if it could be less since it was so old (maybe it was $0.97 at one point) but decided to not press the issue because original DS accessories are impossible to find so I figured even for $3.97 it was a good deal.

Also price checked Madden 06 for the PSP. It was $12.97 months ago so I thought it would be $0.97 or $1.97 by now. Still $12.97.

If you like fighters, DOA4 is well worth it. I got it for that price and have no complaints. I'm still waiting on Virtua Fighter 5 and especially Soul Calibur 4, but DOA is very good stuff. Even if you go the BC route you're looking at DOA 3 and Ultimate, Fight Night, a couple of MKs, the rare Marvel vs Capcom 2, or Soul Calibur 2 and they're all good fighters. If you're unsure if you like fighters, I'd actually go with SC2 as its really good, was way overprinted and could be had cheap used at EB and if you like it get more. But DOA 4 is worth it. You could always get it and return it if you change your mind before you open it. Just saying it probably won't last long especially if it's marked.

With some of these deals, the employees have no clue that they're going on, unless they did the price changes themselves. Every single time I've picked up a clearence game for cheap, the employee is surprised and wants one for themselves. Alerting them to the cheap price is just ensuring you'll never find a copy at that store.

LOL That's the ONLY way to be, get every cent you can off of an item. Hell, I'd love to see what they may have stashed away at the Sears stores by me or even the Kmarts, since I'm sure they have some REALLLLLLLY old stuff. I didn't get one at all. Period. I couldn't decide at the time if I needed another GC, and then I later decided for $30, why not? It's not much more than a brand new controller, which it comes with... so I went back the next day and they were cleaned out. More than 10 brand new GCs for $30, all gone.

I did get a good amount of games for 50 cents there, though.

I think Soul Calibur on the Gamecube made me wanna try them. I played it a lot and got OK. I've seen people that are good or even great and I'm hardly OK. I (like probably everyone on this site) am always keeping an eye out for MvC2. I think I'll wait just a wee longer to see if it drops. Also I have 2 more Sears to check out first.

Well ask someone in the department first if they know of any old games that might be in the back room or anything. They might try to tell you there aren't any but don't believe them. Tell them you know someone that works at sears and he said that you guys have old games in the back. If he still tries to deny it then it's probably not worth it. Plus once they find out a game is low priced back there anyways they might want it for themselves as Ronin said. If you ask for perhaps specific games on the list that was posted by the OP you might get some luck. But then again they might just go back there and not even look for it and say they dont have it. I guess its just a game of luck really.

Plus the game I was referring to yesterday was actually Rainbow Six: Critical Hour on xbox. It is $4.97 at my sears. I was checking out some other games today and they didn't come up at a surprisingly low price. I will probably take a closer look next week and see what I can find.

Makes me wonder what treasures are at the back of these stores like Kmart & Sears, being so unorganized up front I just can't imagine the back. I would love to go back there and just see it all for myself!

DOA4 rang up at $20+ at every single store. Chances are likely if you go to a store that you will get that kind of price before you get a <$10 price.

My one local Sears has the usual bins loaded up with $19.99 and under games and my closest Sears looked like someone just came through and pulled up the entire first level of games, then stacked them in stacks and knocked them over back into the bin, effectively covering the rest of them with games laying every which way.

It took me 30-40 minutes to dig through that shit the other night, just to find out that the lone copy of Subsistence had been pilfered from that massive collection of shit.

My local Sears were a gold mine at one point, with multiple copies of Ico and War Of The Monsters for PS2 still in the bin, but once Sears started doing like Kmart and Best Buy with those annoying fuckin front lane games, the bins became a chore to pick through.

Plus, the few games that SHOULD be super cheap, still come up as the old prices, since it's obvious the electronics people are more concerned with making sales of TVs than selling something they feel should sell themselves, so the updates take forever to take effect.

I just wonder if they have a collection of games sitting in the back collecting dust also.

I think the OP needs to update some of those prices. I can honestly say that most of those games are incorrect after having been to 10 Sears stores in 3 different states. It's one of the more/most organized clearances lists, too. The purpose is to show you the lowest price that you could possibly get so that you don't go grabbing DOA4 at $21.97 when it could drop to $9.97 or $1.97 later on.

Keep in mind that since most clearance lists on CAG are YMMV, there are no "incorrect" prices. ;)

With DOA 4, I found it for $19.97 at one store. Another store had it for $4.97 but was OOS. I asked at the first store if I buy it for $19.97, can I take it to the $4.97 store, will they adjust the price. He said yes even though he though the price is the same at all stores. I tell the clerk at the $4.97 store, I want a price adjustment. He scans it and enters a refund of $15.00.

LOL Monkey......you see, where they went wrong was to ask for a price adjustment, instead of just returning and rebuying it about 15 minutes later, once they put it out in their bin and it was under the correct price.

THAT would have been SOOOOO much easier, instead of making a scene like that, like I've done with guides in the past, reiterating that 'because they're on the shelf they should be sold at the price they ring up'.

It doesn't always work that way though. Making a fool out of yourself AND the employees at those stores may work and get you a good deal ONCE, but if the same people are working when you come back to try and get ANOTHER deal, they'll be less likely to help you if you acted like an ass and DEMANDED they do this or that for you.

Since I've been a CAG, my life/work has demanded a lot of travel between the 3 major cities in upstate NY: Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse. I've never found a really amazing haul at any Sears I've been to, because they exist mostly in relatively upscale suburban malls that get a lot of foot traffic.

About a year ago, when Sears first started clearancing out a lot of good stuff, I found a good haul (Metroid Pinball, Trace Memory, and a PS2 FFXI HDD) at The Medley Centre in Irondequoit (a suburb of Rochester). This is a mall that's really on its last legs, in a lower-income part of the greater metro area of Rochester, so foot traffic was low and old stock was accumulating. I thought I could count on that location to continue to provide some killer deals, but there hasn't been anything good since.

I find if I just keep my eyes open, and stop at a Sears if it's on my way somewhere, I find something good every now and then. But it's really rare that I see something another CAG has posted, go to Sears specifically looking for it, and actually find it. At least at all the Sears around me, YMMV8-). Happy hunting!

I was at the one in Evansville, IN and picked up two poker games for .97. Stacked for PS2 and World Championship Poker 2 for xbox. I never played a poker game before but thought even if it suck it should have a tutorial to teach me to play the game. They had a bunch of clearance jampacks for .97 also. They had probably 2-3 of the poker games left. It was strange because they had more than that but the others were marked 14.99-19.99 and when I bought the .97 cent once they guy had to key in the price because it wasn't in the computer.

Hit up my Sears again and noticed they'd rearranged. Found a couple things to test out. I found some accessories that had been marked down in June/July, scanned them, found their price was lower, and used that to get the service guy to take these out:

PS2 Rogue Galaxy - $19.97 (was marked $31.97 JUL)
DS True Swing Golf - did not register with the system (was marked $14.97 JUN - he wouldn't sell it to me unless I paid the marked price)
DS SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters - $19.97 (was marked $23.97 AUG)

Still waiting on Card Fighters to drop more. I wish that had taken the 12 dollar drop instead of RG.

For some reason, I think I missed out on a massive clearance. Ive hit 5 Sears, with them all recently having tons of pink stickered games at varying prices, and the last two days they've all been gone. Even the mismarked stuff. I don't really know what happened to it.

Did see something interesting though.

I hope my sears back home has price scanners next time I get there. My Sears have like 3 Kirby Curse C, 2 Wario Twisted, 4 Final Fantasy GBA and a couple of more I can't remember. Its so easy to print off and use the barcode like I do at K-Mart.

I scanned a whole bunch of barcodes today and most of the games were ringing up 16.97 or 17.97, thats for DS games like Digimon World DS and Castlevania POR.

There is a load of copies of Capcom SNK card fighters for DS, how do I go about getting them to give it to me for the 2.97 price instead of the 23.97 that its marked, the game comes up not in system when I scan the barcode at the price scanners. Games are behind a glass case so I would have to get the employees to help. All games are mismarked and ring up cheaper with scanned barcodes.

I highly suggest not printing out a clearance list and taking it to Sears. It would have to be definitive proof of the price not just a list off the internet that to them would be unverified. Thus, it would have to be a receipt in this case as there are no advertised prices from KMart's clearance.

NO. by any means do not show them this list. the list is for us to use. you may or may not ruin it for the rest of us. you cant tell for sure what they'll end up doing.

each sears are managed differently, so if 1 sears didnt ring Dead or Alive 4 for 360 for $1.97 just go to another one and price check it again. use Apposum's post as an example:
