I couldn't find the other thread about this remake, so feel free to merge this w/ them if that's preferred. But really, this trailer is badass enough that it's worthy of it's own thread :)
So, despite having my original FF2 cart, played through the PSX version in Chronicles, and still have my FFIV Advance... I think I'll have to get this after seeing this trailer. Anyone else in this shameless category?

I was just coming to post this. All I can say is HOLY SHIT! I was not sold on this game before....the cutesy charcters made me kinda against it....but wow....the voice acting, the cut scenes....man!
Edit - btw LOVE your avatar. Arty. The strongest man....in the world!

Oh man. FFIV is my favorite FF by far, and on of my favorite games. In fact it's pretty much the only FF game I like. The cutscenes, voice acting, and music were great. Made me want this game badly.
The problem are those in-game character models. I hate them. If they had gone with a more realistic style (especially for a game with as serious a story as FFIV), it would have been the perfect game.

I haven't had a chance to play FF3. Are there cut scenes like that in the game? I didn't know the DS could pull that off.

FF3 just had an amazing intro movie, but the in-game cut-scenes weren't nearly as good as these. no voice acting, and the characters' movements were not as detailed. at most they'd fall down or frown or something.

And I still have FFIV Advance sealed...oh well, I must get this when it's localized. I played FF2 SNES about half a dozen times when I was a kid and loved it.

Is this game really going to have voice acting, or is it just for the trailer?

From the version I played at TGS, the game actually has voice acting. I'm glad to see this trailer was finally made public - it was one of my favorite things at TGS.

That's that's exactly why I'm not too excited about this... the trailer for FFIII looked good too but the playing through the game was a different story- both visually and gameplay-wise.

I've thought about buying Chronicles, multiple times, just to own a legitimate copy of Chrono Trigger. I already own the GBA version but this trailer is making hard to resist getting a second version of the game.
Also I like the in game character models.

Same. The more they release about this game, the more excited I am for it. I had little hope when it was originally announced, but this could end up kicking some serious ass.

I've gotta say, it's probably not worth it. The cut scenes are kind of neat, but the load times nearly kill CT. I did manage to play through it once, but it took much much longer than the SNES version did. Maybe it'll be released on the Wii VC.

On top of those, I also own the Super Famicom FFIV, Wonderswan Color FFIV, and Japanese FFIV Advance with the special GBA Micro. I'll definitely be picking up the Japanese version of the DS remake, since I'm so impatient.

Damn, look at those graphics! Will there be alot of those kinda scenes throughout the game (i'll settle for just VA )? Or is it just the intro? *coughffiiicough*
