If this site is to be trusted, then not much is known about this, except that the tentative title is the "New Pack" and the UPC is 045496880088.

Who knows what it could be:
A) A Wii console with another pack-in game, along with Wii Sports? I'd wager on Excite Truck, Twilight Princess, or Wii Play with a Wiimote.
B) A Wii console with the Wiimote Jacket?
C) A Wii console with an accessory, such as the Classic Controller or the Wii Zapper?
D) New console color?
E) A pack of lies concocted by Codename Revolution, or their distributor contact?

EDIT: The Crotch confirmed that the Wii normally costs $289.99 in Canada, making it very likely that this UPC is nothing more than the normal console pack with the Wiimote Jacket included.

$40 over current retail, can't only be jacket. Or even just zapper. I'd go with a game.

Wii Fit would seem to be the obvious candidate, given their focus on casual gamers. $40 and get Wii Sports and Wii Fit w/ balance board.

Probably just a bs rumor either way though. $290 seems like damn odd price, and it would be odd to launch a more expensive bundle, but I guess they did do that with the DS mario kart bundle. So who knows.

Definitely not just the Jackets since they already announced those would start coming packed in with consoles and that they are giving them away for free on the website.

I'd put my money on Wii Fit if this is real.

If the Balance Board costs $40 alone we've got ourselves a WiiFit bundle, for sure. But I'm with dmaul, I don't think they'd cut WiiSports.

Yes, I agree. Wii Fit w/ the balance board certainly is a viable option for a bundle. However, I wouldn't count out Twilight Princess just yet, as I'd imagine that since it's an established game with an almost universal appeal, bundling it with the Wii would attract quite a few gamers who have been on the fence. Bundling their most popular game with the console would be similar to how Nintendo bundled Super Mario 64DS and Nintendogs with the DS. There's also Wii Play w/ a Wiimote to consider, as I'm sure quite a few people would get such a bundle if it means being able to play multiplayer in Wii Sports and Wii Play out of the box.

I just don't see Zelda given their steadfast focus of marketing efforts on casual/non-gamers.

Plus, a Wii Fit bundle makes sense, as it's easier for a Soccer Mom to hear about Wii Fit and be able to run to the store and buy everything she needs to play it in one package.

Price just seems odd to me, at $290. But then again the 360 core is $280 right now, and the Elite came out at $479. DS at $130. So I guess we might be past the days of prices in multiples of 50.

I'll bet it's just the Console with 2 wiimotes.

It says "$289.99 (CAN)". Does that mean it's going to be different in the US? What's the Canadian retail price for a Wii right now?

If it's a Wii Fit bundle, that'd be awesome. I wanted to eventually get a Wii and Wii Fit for my mom. (Yep, totally falling into Nintendo's casual gaming trap :) )

Might be the same, given the current exchange rate.

If it's a bundle, but not one with WiiFit, it could be one with WiiPlay or even Super Mario Galaxy...

You people who think they'll bundle WiiFit for only $40 extra are talking crazy.

My completely random speculation would be WiiPlay with the extra controller. Mostly for the aforementioned 2 player games out of the box.

My guesses:
1) Not real
2) Mario Galaxy
3) Wii Play + Remote
4) Wii Fit

Wii Fit seems like a possibility, but I think it will be more expensive than the extra $40.

Might be the same, given the current exchange rate. The Wii does indeed cost $289.99 + tax (varies based on province) here in Canada. Most everything costs more here, despite the dollars being equal. Books are often double the price. A new 360 game costs $70.

So wouldn't that mean that this new SKU is for the same price as the Wii one can get now? That would pretty much kill the pack-in idea, then.

After thinking just a few minutes more about it, maybe's it just a new packaging and includes the rubber pieces, since Wiis cost 289 in Canada already, if there is a new SKU with the same price. They're not going to take Wii Sports out (yet) and they aren't going to add anything else in for free (other than the Wiimote condoms)

I hope its not real, they were the only one to get it right with no SKUing it up all over the place.

Ouch! Canadians are paying an extra $40 for their Wii? That's just wrong Nintendo...you hussies...

So, to sum up: there is no price change for the Wii, in Canada or anywhere else.

I'm betting it's a Canadian exclusive bundle.

I thought the Wii was $279.99 in Canada? Just everyone sold it at $289.99 because they knew it would still sell. Walmart is the only place I've seen consistantly sell it for $279.99.

With the Canadian dollar essentially equivalent to the US, Canadians are getting jacked now.

Ouch! Canadians are paying an extra $40 for their Wii? That's just wrong Nintendo...you hussies...Not Nintendo. Like I said, fucking everything costs more. The justification given is that prices are set months in advance. I can't say I buy it.

But with extra security on the border, buying in the US is too much of a hassle for most, so we pay the Canadian prices.

Myself, I do 90% of my shopping online.

Extra security? I've heard Americans were stopped at the boarder and asked brief questions ONLY if they had a criminal history. American w/o criminal history weren't even stopped at all. And on the way back into the US there was basically just some pimple-faced kid saying hi.

It's a bundle called "Wii Play 'N Learn" and that's all we know. Though, this may not be the same thing mentioned previously..but still worth mentioning.

If it's true and they are bundling Wii Sports, Play, and Brain Age together, it's going to be just as hard to find a Wii this fall as it was last year.

Today there were lineups hours long going over the border.

Who the fuck goes cross-border shopping on Thanksgiving is beyond me.

Yes, this is our Thanksgiving.

Fuck Columbus.
