Can someone explain?

How can I hook up the PS2 to the internet?

Would I be able to use the internet on there for free, or how much would it cost?

hmm... all of this is new to me.

Generally speaking, there is NO easy way to surf the internet through your TV using a PS2.

That being said, I'm sure that someone has hacked a PS2 to do just that, but I'm sure it's not trivial to do so. At the very least, there used to be an official Linux kit available for the old fatty's that don't know anything about, but I presume if you get linux running on the thing, you can do some internet with it.

No matter what, you still have to pay an ISP for the internet service itself. The PS2 would just take the place of a PC or other web appliance.

Hmm.... perhaps I messed up on my post some where.

it's not the internet that I am using right now, to speak it's more so to play games online, almost like xbox live.

Not hard at all. Plug an ethernet from your router into the back of the PS2 and you're ready to go (provided you have a slim PS2 or a fatty with network adaptor). Games that are online usually sport a logo on the back.
