AP - Profits at Japanese video-game maker Nintendo Co. nearly doubled for the latest quarter compared to the same period a year ago as sales continued to be solid in its Game Boy Advance handhelds.

The Gameboy Advance is the #1 selling video game system, with the Playstation2 being the #2 system.

No more so than the Xbox. Wasn't it just at E3 that Sony's own numbers put the Big N at a distant #2?

It's not about "giving a crap" -- sales are sales. I think int80h's point is that sure, the Xbox has sold more units than the Cube in North America, but the fact that it can't even outsell the freakin' Dreamcast in Japan puts it in third place globally, which is the bottom line when you're having the "who's in what place" discussion.

Ummm, probably because still is home for most of the "tier 1" software developers, whose product not only moves units in Asia/Japan, but also moves units in the States and Europe.

You don't actually NEED it, but if you neglect it, it is at your own peril.
