This is from the review at Gamespot (I am no fan of Gamespot either) and I thought this sounded cool:


The first game didn't really give you too much reason to use your weapons. If you were skilled with the wrench, you could get by without expending too much weapon ammo. Aside from this game's enemies being tougher, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando gives you plenty of reasons to fire away. The main addition is that most of your weapons gain experience as you use them, and once you cross a certain usage threshold, you'll receive the upgraded "gold" version of that weapon. This turns your gravity bombs into mushroom cloud-laying mini-nukes, it lets you fire off three seeker rockets instead of one, and it gives you various other similar increases. Ratchet also gains experience, so, as you eliminate enemies, you'll level up and add additional segments to your life meter. You'll also find damage-reducing armor and stronger wrenches as you make your way through the game. On top of that, you'll find hidden platinum bolts throughout the game. These bolts can be taken to specific shops and traded for even more weapon upgrades, letting you add shock, acid, or lock-on effects to some of your firearms. These upgrades are cool additions, though they don't make dramatic changes to the game.

its against the law to change the price after you've confirmed a set price of ten bucks pluss shipping on your credit card.... so you dont have to worry about them charging you more for their mistake... you just have to know that they may not ship it.

theres not much to lose. they can either refund your money and not send the game... or send it and fix the price before anyone else orders it.

Whether a GS store price matches the website or not is pretty much at the manager's discretion. The online site is actually run by different areas that than the regular B&M stores.

I used to manage a GS store and sometimes I would price match and sometimes not depending on the situation. It never hurts to ask though. Sometimes you'll get lucky and catch the worker in a good mood.

Actually, on more than one occasion, I have gotten CC to price-match BB's web prices when BB doesn't have the game in-stock. The manager who price-matched for me is normally a real stickler when it comes to matching competitors' prices, but he doesn't hesitate when I show him websites, whether the item is in-stock or not.

I do'nt know if I really want to drive that extra 10-20 miles to get it although it would be pretty worthwhile I suppose.

Well I called my local gamestop and the guy didn't believe me so he told me to print it out and bring it and he will price match it. So I did and when I got their he was like :shock:. So he called his manager at home and he/she was not their so he called another store manager at another gamestop store. So he finishes talking to him and he tells me that usually gamestop.com and regular stores have different promotions so I dont think we can do it. SO I was :evil: because I told him that he said over the phone that he will do it. So then paused and said ok I will be able to do for you, but I hope you inderstand that gamestop.com and gamestop stores run different promotions. So overall I got thr rachet and clank: going commander for $10 :D .

Well, it has been a few weeks, and I'd just like to know, has anyone who ordered this actually received it? I don't mean people who got the B&M to price match, although congratulations to those who did, but it would be nice to know if they have any intention of honoring these orders (Memo to self: cancel order when this becomes a GH). Tradestop.com pays $14.25 for the game, so I don't expect too many people are going to be trading it in (although, they give even less for Jak 2), but I'd be interested to know if these orders are being fulfilled at a trickle rate, or not at all. Yeah, they definitely gave you the shaft, that's horrible. I got mine (the full version) yesterday, and its in excellent condition, it looked like it was new, none of the inserts were even missing. Give em a call, and they should straighten it out for you as they honored most of the other people's deals.

If it was in a game case (instead of the demo sleeve), then it was probably an honest mistake (someone screwed them over by trading it in as if it were the full game, and they didn't look closely enough to catch it). I don't think there is any reason to report it to Sony.

theats not a demo disc thats the "store" copy! thats why it doesn't have case or book, and has not for resale on it. my cos bought a DMC used from eb just like that and we thought we were ripped off, but the store manager explained it all. Try playing I guarrentee its the full ver.
