Hey, has anyone seen issue #220 w/ Mario Galaxy on the cover? I haven't seen this in the stores yet. I hope it isn't skipped or poorly distributed because of the Future Pub takeover.
and, please refrain from any flame emails. I know what nintendo power is. I know it's biased.

I have it, but I have a subscription. The only store I ever see NP for sale in is Gamestop.

I'm pretty sure Toy R Us carries Nintendo Power too. Or at least that used to. I'm about 70% sure they still do.

Thanks for the replies. I've gone to stores that usually carry NP, but noone recieved 220 or 221. I checked and I can order past issues from the Nintendo online store. Maybe i'll just do that.
i should probably just subscribe, tho.

Your right, I do see NP in TRU all the time, although I cannot confirm that the latest issue is there, I havent been to a TRU in awhile.
OP, you should just subscribe. I think I registered some game with Nintendo and got a year for like $10, and then I registered something else and got another 3 months for free.

If you're looking to subscribe (or renew) consider doing what I did...

Basically, you can get five years for about $20. The coupon code doesn't work anymore, but there are plenty to be had with a Google Search.
The down side is that it takes a good two months to get your first issue. But beyond that, I'm subscribed through 2017... ;)

Is nintendo power as good as it used to be? I don't really care about reviews and whatnot, but the indepth stuff they used to have was excellent in my opinion. I was a subscriber since 1989, then stopped when I went off to college. I'm thinking it might not be a horrible idea to start getting it again.

NP was really bad for a long time, but then about a year or two ago they changed and have gotten a lot better. Actually I think they've been very good this past year in particular. Of course, they're about to go through another big change(no longer being published by NOA), so who can say what'll happen next.
And yeah, I have 220 & 221, but I have a subscription... so just like all the other replies, I guess I'm no help here at all.

I enjoy NP. It's not EGM or Game Informer, but it's good. I enjoy the in depth coverage and pic's. And, even though I'm 30, i still like the freebie stickers and posters and stuff. I'm just a die hard Nintendo guy, so NP is a no brainer. It's almost a guilty pleasure.
It'll be interesting to see what Future Publishing does with it.

My favorite part about NP is that I often read about & see screens of games there first. Mags & Websites that cover all systems usuallty tend to focus only on the bigger & more anticipated titles, where NP, covering only Nintendo systems often covers games that get no love anywhere else.
Pretty much every month I will see a screenshot of a DS game I had never heard of before. And I do read other mags and websites regularly.
Also, you'd think they would be biased in their reviews, but if a game sucks, they have no problem rating it accordingly. They rate all the PS2 ports, and movie license shovelware as they should be. In fact, Ive seen them rate games that I was excited about far lower than many of the other major mags and sites.

This is accurate. I've been a subscriber for about 3 or 4 years. Before that I hadn't read the magazine since the 80s. I primarily read it for the Nintendo coverage that you don't get in any of the other rags. But there was a definite change for the better about a year ago. Reviews stopped being fluff pieces and actually had some teeth. The feature subjects became a lot more interesting and the quality of the writing improved. In general, the magazine matured a bit in tone.
I'm hopeful that the new ownership will build on those improvements. I guess we'll see.

I have a subscription and I haven't gotten 220 or 221 and my sub isn't supposed to run out until next year, time to complain.

i got mine a while back, but i'm also a subscriber. honestly it's worth it to me to get something to read for 12 months plus the free guide that you get with renewals. The guide alone makes the sub worth the cost to me.

QFT! I wanted the twilight princess guide. I think the subscription was like 14.99 for 12 issues or something, so basically I got NP for free and 5 bucks off a $20 guide. SICK!!! Mine is probably gonna run out soon though cuz i got my WII (and twlight princess in NOV.!!).
I know its bragging but I got my Wii the day after it came out and DID NOT wait one second in line. I will admit though, I did spend some time calling around to stores that day.
Anyway back on topic, I am one issue past the one with Galaxy on the cover.
