I was browsing around Amazon, and I stumbled across this game from Midway called Game Party.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gKqnA_ps74

It looks very similar to Carnival Games in many ways, but without the Carnival Theme to it. Hopefully it plays like Carnival Games, but for some reason I just have a bad feeling about it.

However, for $20 it might be one of them games that MIGHT be worth the $20. Kinda disappointed that CG came out at $40, so hopefully Midway took the smarter approach and is only selling it for $20 to make better sense

But then, it might just suck that bad and Midway knows it!

Here are some features:

* Play seven of your favorite games: Play Darts, Table Hockey, Shuffle Board and Hoop Shoot, or try your hand at variations of classics like Skii Ball, Ping Cup, and Trivia.

* Fun, Easy Controls: Play your favorite games with the same motions you would in real-life. Slide your hand forward to hit a hockey puck, take aim and toss your dart at the dartboard, use a bowling motion to send you skii ball into a high scoring hoop.

* 175 Characters - 125 unique characters initially available, plus the chance to unlock 50 additional zany characters.

* Classic Venues: Each game features classic venues appropriate for each activity. Play darts in a British style eatery, Hoop Shoot in a sports entertainment center, and many more.

* Show Your Friends Who Rules: Participate in multi-player competitions, with friends in your home. Form teams to take on the competition and keep track of your progress on the leader boards.

Nice to see a nice amount of characters where CG only had 4 characters with the ability to give a few different faces and clothes.

I know many of you hate the idea of companies producing mini game compilations. But at the same time there is a decent amount of people here who ARE interested in these kinds of games and like to be positive about it.

I'm not expecting much, but I hope it turns out to be a fun game with good controls..and that's basically it. IMO, you can never have enough Party Games :)

Could be alright for $20 as long as it isn't broken.

Well, look at the game list. Darts, Table Hockey, Shuffle Board...yawn.

$20 is a nice price point, but I wouldn't spend $20 on Skee Ball and Table Hockey at Chuck E. Cheese, and at least there I'd get a prize for doing so.

On the one hand, I do want to encourage this price point and multiplayer games (not necessarily minigames, but whatever).

On the other hand, apart from Darts, I wouldn't play these things in real life for more than a couple of minutes. It's not what I have in mind when I want to play video games.

Do you have to threadcrap on anything that has to do with the Wii? We get it already.

I'm beginning to think you have an unhealthy obsession with your Wii and how much it sucks.

I have had it with budget Wii titles coming out for anything more than $20. I amy buy this game just to support a company that is putting the right price on a game.

Why is Air Hockey called 'Table Hockey' and Skee Ball called 'Skill Ball'? Are those trademarked names or something?

If the controls are done right, this could be alot of fun, but coming from Midway, Im more inclined to believe its gonna suck.

Is the shuffle board the kind with the stick or the kind with the table? If it's the table version that would be really cool if they get the controls right.
