I am on the fence about this game and have a few questions.

Is this game really as good as everyone says it is?

How is the difficulty on this game as compared to other games like it?

How many lives/continues do you get and if you get a game over do you have to start at the beginning of the game or are there in level continue points?

Can you go back and replay individual levels once you beat them?

Yes.

On "easy" it will take some time to get used to the controls, but once you get the hang of them it's not bad at all.

You get 1 continue for every 100 enemies you defeat. If you get a game over and have a continue, you start at a specified point in the level you were playing.
